Various imaging modalities such as ultrasonography, CT, MRI, and IVU can be used to image the urinary bladder and diagnose specific diseases. Congenital anomalies like bladder agenesis, duplication, and diverticula as well as acquired conditions including bladder wall thickening from infection, cancer, or obstruction can be evaluated. Bladder trauma, fistulas from other organs, and cancer are also discussed along with the roles of different exams in diagnosis.
