16. Immigrants and Cities America accounted for most of all European immigration at the time with out any major social disruptions. From 1870-1914 the U.S. allowed the largest number of immigrants in its history. Most of the immigrants were looking for work. A lot of European people also migrated to Canada and Brazil.
