This document contains examples of different types of performance shots from music videos along with descriptions of when each type of shot is commonly used and its purpose. It discusses close-ups of instruments, long shots to capture the performance environment, close-ups of facial expressions, mid shots that show some of the scene while focusing on the artist, and close-ups with specific lighting to help convey the song's message. The document advises considering different styles of shots and how they can be used to either match or contrast with the genre and message of the song being filmed.

2. Munford and sons little lion man
A long this line you can see
there all extreme close ups
of the instruments there
playing this is a classic
performance shot and
something we should
defiantly use
This is a long shot this has been used to capture the This two are close ups to show the facial
environment in witch the song is being performed this is expression of the artists again a very classic
common for fowk music as most fowk is mainly narrative performance shot and this time done with a
shots or long shots because they usually create pathetic good level of light so that the facial exasperation
falsie were the shots on camera convey the songs lyric's and is clearly seen
meaning this is a contrast to that because of its low level
lighting and that the song dose not convey the same
message compared to the way its shot so this shows me and
my team that we can in a way clash the genre and song when
we shoot it .
3. Ben Howard old pine
These two are both mid shots to show a bit of the scene but
mainly that the artist is moving the song dose create pathetic
falsie by the way the lighting environment and the journey all
covey the messages from the song .
This is a close up but from this shot
the most important thing is the lighting
because in a lot of folk they do over the
shoulder shots with the sun and also
the yellow tint on the camera lens to
again help convey messages from the
song
Long shot
