International tourism saw strong growth in 2014, with 1.138 billion international tourist arrivals, an increase of 5% over 2013. Europe remained the most visited region, capturing 52% of all international arrivals in 2014, though Asia and the Pacific saw the highest increase of international arrivals at 5.4%. The Americas experienced the second highest increase in arrivals at 7.4%. Overall, the number of new international tourist arrivals in 2014 was 51 million.
