1. The repertoire of elements is a key elementof a film that is consistently
repeated throughout a genre.
My chosenis action/crime thriller, Hit-man, Mechanic resurrection are
good examples.
The narrative
is the way the differentelements in a story are organized to make a
meaningful story. Some of these elements can be facts as in a
documentary, or characters and action as in a drama
Narratives codes in action, gunshots, fast-paced scenes, death, and
killings.
I will followfast pace haunting, gunshots, and killings.
Settings
This is the place and time at which the scene is shot and portrayed on
the screen.setting are important because it shows the viewers where
and what time of the day the scene as shot. Large distraction fields, dark
rooms, and abandoned warehouses are some of the conventional
settings for my genre.
I will followabandoned warehouses because my movie lies towards it
and its suitable for my opening sequence.
I won't use the others because they won't work well with my movie.
Iconography
Iconographyis what an audience expects to see on screenwhen they
see a particular genre.
They bring more meaning to the film because without them, the
audience would be left unsatisfied.
Guns and killings are my conventional iconography.
Iconographywill be used in my text by including the conventions of
iconography related to my movies
2. Style
The style is basically what kind of genre used and examples are crime,
thriller, comedydrama and fantasy.
Style being used in my opening sequence action, crime thriller.
Themes
Themes are small aspects that build up to make a genre or are along.
Death, crime, love, and heroism are some of the themes included in the
action.
Themes like vengeance, love, and death are examples that will be
included in the opening sequence.
Audience.
When planning and writing a film, it’s important to think about who your
audience will be. Audience research is very necessary when considering
the demographic you’ll be marketing towards.
The typical audience for the genre is all individuals from the age of 4 and
beyond. Everyone watches action movies.Audienceswatch this genre
because it's very visual and interesting due to the type of emotions it
creates as it engages every into it.
I expect my audience to like it because the action is very popular and
liked almost everywhere by everyone.
Characters
They are important because they act the film and bring all the ideas to
life.
Protagonists, heroes are usually the stocked characters of my genre.
My opening sequence will have a protagonist this is because it fits the
storyline of the movie.
I won't follow the rest because they aren't suitable for my film.
