HSV 2 Genital Herpes causes sores in the genital area that are caused by the herpes infection. It is most commonly transmitted through sexual contact or from oral sores. Protection methods include avoiding sexual contact, using condoms, and informing partners of symptoms. Common symptoms are sores in the genital region along with fever and general sickness. Complications include passing it to babies. While not life threatening, it can cause emotional distress. There is no cure, but medications can be used to treat outbreaks.

2. What causes the HSV II?
• Sores in the genital area, such as vagina on penis.
• Herpes infection

3. How is it transmitted?
• Sexual contact
• Mouth sores
• Other part of body ( eyes / brain )
• Common in women

4. How can you protect
against it?
• Avoid sexual contact including oral sex
• Use condoms
• Tell partners if they have any symptoms
• Vaccines may helpful ( still experimental )

common symptoms?

it occurs
• Fever
• General sick feel
• On tongue, mouth, eyes, lips
• Before it appears, people feel skin tingling,
burning, itching
