3. What is a sentence?
◦ A sentence is a group of words that express a complete
thought. It is an independent clause that contains a subject
(who or what) and a predicate (verb).
◦ A sentence begins with capital letters and ends with a
punctuation mark (period, question mark or exclamation
point).
