Unit 5 - Contribute to good working relationships
The document discusses identifying key roles and tasks in a production process. For a talk show/podcast called "The John and Joe Show", the roles were identified as the author sorting out guests and questions, while the colleague set up the studio layout and liaised with staff. They created a PowerPoint specifying roles and equipment. They devised their working arrangements by discussing roles each were best suited for and agreeing terms in a professional manner to promote a good working relationship.
1. Unit 5 - Contribute to good working relationships
1.1 – Identify key roles and tasks in the production process.
To identify key roles and tasks, myself and a colleague put together a project called the
‘John and Joe show’ which was sort of like a talk show/video podcast. My roles were to sort
out people to guest on our show, put together a running order and I also put together a list
of questions we would be asking. Joe’s roles were to put together the layout of the studio
and liaison with other staff members (film makers and sound technicians) to get the
equipment set up for the day. We both worked on the power point which was the initial
planning. This specified our roles and anyone else who would be involved, as well as all
equipment needed and how the recording would run.
1.2 – Outline how to clarify, agree and revise working arrangements in a way which
promotes good working relationships.
In reference to my particular project me and my colleague devised our working
arrangements by sitting down with one another and discussing the roles we needed to do
and pointed out which we were both best at. After putting forward these roles we agreed
who would do what in a professional manner to then put our roles into practice. This was a
good working relationship as we both agreed terms, roles and were both happy about what
our roles consisted of. We also maintained good working relationships with everybody else
involved as we set up the running order to suit their schedules.
