capability and is able

LAPTOP COMPUTER
A Laptop is a ‘Portable’
computer system which is
powered by a battery. It can
be charged in a mains
socket and can also be
connected to the internet if a
Ethernet cable is connected
to it. It also has a built in
track pad and click which
replaces the mouse on a
normal computer. Some
models of laptop also
include a built in web cam
for the use of Skype and
MSN.
TABLET (IPAD 3)
A Tablet is a Portable
device which has
roughly the same
features as a Smart
Phone. It is able to
connect to Wi-Fi
hotspots and can
access the internet. It
also has 2 cameras
on it (front and back)
it has the ability to
use the Apple
application ‘Facetime’
which is only
available on apple
devices.
BASE UNIT
A base unit is the actual
computer which
must be connected
to a monitor to
completely work.
This has everything
needed for a
computer to run
inside it. It has a
hard drive to save
data, RAM,
Motherboards, CPU
and a CD Drive to
run CDs on, it also
has USB slots to
read USB devices.
SERVER
A server is a large powerful
computer which allows other
computers to connect to it. It
has many ports and is usually
connected to the internet.
There are many different types of
servers like; Web servers,
game servers, file servers and
many more.
DIGITAL CAMERA
A digital camera, is a portable
device which captures
pictures. It has ports which
allow it to be connected into a
PC so the pictures can be
saved onto the PC.
Different settings on the camera
allow the user to take photos
in different environments and
also has a flash to take
pictures in places that are
dark.
EMBEDDED COMPUTER
An Embedded Computer is a
computer which has been
placed inside another
device.
Its function is to do only what
the devices needs to do to
function properly.
Some Embedded Computers
are mainly found in:
Television, Aeroplanes,
Cars, Cameras,
Telephones, Washing
Machines, Dishwashers
and Cash Machines.
