Evaluation of Physical Education, Sports and Recreation for the GiftedIOSR Journals
Abstract: Physical education, sports and recreation for the gifted was the topic dealt with in this article. The
concept of physical education as it refers to the body, with reference to various bodily characteristics was also
discussed. Academic success and well-being of the gifted with regard to physical education has been
stressed,special physical education program for the gifted being exceptional learners was discussed, and special
instructional media and resources for the gifted as distinct for sports and games from the modern technology
was addressed. Recreation, leisure services, camping and outdoor activities are also areas that were discussed
in this work. Recreation and leisure being characterized by five descriptive terms was also addressed.
Recreation for the gifted for developing their sophisticated routines in dance, tumbling, gymnastics, apparatus,
and synchronized swimming have been discussed in this work. Assessment of the gifted in physical education
using variety of methods was also stressed in this work. It was recommended that, classes for the gifted who are
high achievers need to be taught by physical educators who know how to design and implement programs for
such exceptional students.

The socio-economic status make-up of an individual Influences habitual physical activity and plays an important role in one’s achievements in every field of life, including performance in sports. The current study aimed to assess the effect of socio-economic status determined by parental education and family income on the effective students’ participation in physical activity sessions at RAK Medical& Health Sciences University. The study demonstrated significant positive correlation between physical activity levels of the students and mother education (r=0.139, p=0.05) and family income (r = 0.182, p= 0.01), while father education had no significant effect on the level of students’ physical activity (r =0.030, p=0.676). Conversely, a significant negative correlation was noted between the physical activity levels of the students and number of family members (r = -0.130, p= 0.068). The study also revealed that the majority (114/198, 52%) of students were in the medium socio-economic status category. In addition, students with low socio-economic status were more likely to display low physical activity whereas students with high socio-economic status were more likely to display high physical activity.
Each child gets a second birth on getting proper rearing and education just as a girl gets another birth at marriage by shifting from parents to in-laws home.
Hence a child’s rearing and education to adulthood through education must be based on evidence based ideal curriculum on the pattern of national curriculum framework prepared by NCERT for school children in the year 2000.

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
