God is referred to as the Rock in the Bible because he is a firm foundation that can be relied on. The Scriptures portray God as the source of truth, and Jesus as the embodiment of truth. God only speaks truth through his words in the Bible. People who build their lives according to God's truthful words in Scripture are considered wise, while those who hear but do not obey are foolish.
