Theme: Unleashing the power of public private partnerships (PPPs)
Spring Union Suisse event will be hosted by Unitec at Uni Mail in Geneva.
Our theme for the evening will be: 'Unleashing the power of public private partnerships (PPPs)'.
During the evening Union members tell us that diversity in their partnerships leads to a higher level creativity and more successful innovation.
So this Union is all about different types and sizes of organisations coming together to unlock their potential together in partnership. If you’re in a private company wanting to work with a university or other public sector organisation, come along. Similarly if you are in a large organisation wanting to partner with a smaller one you will find this topic of interest.

News and Newspaper Industry: Towards a New Leadership in Innovation. Manifesto for an International Alliance for Media Research and Innovation.
Looking ahead, the newspapers and news publishers global community should become more open and integrate more players into research, development and innovation: public and private research centres and labs, start-ups and innovative technology providers, VC, business angles, and research funding partners in order to create an overall ecosystem of innovation to serve the fast moving media value chain. This ecosystem of innovation will develop around four pillars: 1) a shared strategic vision presented in this manifesto, 2) Training and coaching, 3) the co-production of innovative services and technologies in partnership with the world of research, 4) Technology transfer with specific interface between startups, tech providers and publishers.

f you offer a service on the web, odds are that someone will abuse it. Be it an API, a SaaS, a PaaS, or even a static website, someone somewhere will try to figure out a way to use it to their own needs. In this talk we'll compare measures that are effective against static attackers and how to battle a dynamic attacker who adapts to your counter-measures.

Did you

And tonight

19. But how and where do we
come together?
But we all have a common
denominator
people
Our realities are different
Humanitarians Corporates
Vs
Our approach of the Private sector is
evolving
From a source
of funds
To partners in
Innovation
We need
to

our
common
goals &
challenges
20. Which partnership model do we use?
3
models
available

22. How can we unleash the power of
PPPs?
With PPPs we
have
everything to
gain
RED Innovation
24. 1. Who are we
Softweb is a network for social innovation:
Social incubation for project holders and NPOs
Participatory lab
Social innovation consulting
25. 2. Successes
80-100 project holders receive free advise each year
Social entrepreneurship day organized in partnership with
University of Geneva and other key partners each
November – with 150-200 participants
Projects we have supported have received different
awards (Ashoka, IDDEA, etc.)
Thematic partnerships with international organizations
(Canada, France, Morocco, Belgium, etc.)
26. 3. Some problems we identified
Social entrepreneurship is intertwinkled with who you are and
what you went through as an individual ; atypical
entrepreneurs (from different cultures/backgrounds/etc.) are
prone to creating « different » businesses
Throughout their missions, many humanitarians have
developed unique skills that they do not always know how to
position when they come back from the field and want to come
back to civil life
Women entrepreneurs and people with an international
background may find it harder to setup and grow their
business due to specific needs and possible lack of
information
27. 4. What we are building with our partners
Helpdesk for humanitarians returning from the field, with the
wish to stay in the humanitarian field or to change carriers,
allowing them to know where to start to build their next career
step
Mentoring for people who want to transition
Affordable training and coaching services for project holders
Large collaboration with different partners in Switzerland and
near-by France to ensure the best level of support
…and
many
more…
28. + 5. Why we need your help / Open
question(s)
How to ensure a good subsidiarity with the public
sector?
How to sensitize the private sector about the
humanitarian people’s skills?
Thank you!!

45
From learning from accidents to learning from safe
operations
Future safety gains:
from analyzing data from the more than 38 million flights
that operate safely every year,
rather than just the handful of flights where something
goes wrong
46. Why are we here?
