Testing strategies for e commerce and social appsPremal Dave
This webinar discusses testing strategies for ecommerce and social apps. It covers user interface testing, automation testing, integration testing for third party apps, and performance testing. User interface testing ensures navigation, consistency, and accessibility standards. Automation is important for regression testing due to continuous changes. Integration testing verifies third party apps work properly pre and post integration. Performance testing identifies requirements, analyzes capacity, and finds bottlenecks through load and stress testing.
Mobile app testing services involve a thorough examination of mobile applications to ensure their functionality, performance, and user experience meet the highest standards. These services encompass various testing methodologies, including functional testing, usability testing, performance testing, and security testing, to identify and address issues, bugs, or vulnerabilities.
The document discusses usability testing, which involves testing a product on representative users to identify usability problems, collect data on user performance, and measure satisfaction, in order to improve the product design through an iterative process before public release. It covers planning tests, conducting tests by having users complete tasks while observers take notes, and analyzing the results to identify issues and make design modifications. The goal of usability testing is to create products that are useful, efficient, engaging, error-tolerant, and easy to learn for the intended users.
The document provides an overview of usability testing. It discusses what usability testing is, why it is important, how to plan and conduct tests, and how to analyze the results. The key points are:
- Usability testing evaluates a product by observing representative users complete typical tasks. It identifies usability problems and collects data on user performance and satisfaction.
- Important steps include planning tests, recruiting appropriate users, preparing materials, conducting tests, and analyzing findings to improve the product design.

This webinar discusses testing strategies for ecommerce and social apps. It covers the importance of user interface testing, the need for test automation given continuous changes, integrating and testing third party apps, and assessing performance as an important aspect of quality. The webinar agenda includes these topics and a history of ecommerce. Effective testing requires identifying user profiles, standards compliance, and factoring different devices users may access apps from. Automation is key to addressing time constraints and facilitating regression testing. Performance testing considers requirements, capacity analysis, and identifying bottlenecks.
QA in Digitalized World by Kari Kakkonen at KDS2015Kari Kakkonen
The document discusses how quality assurance is changing in the digitalized world. It notes that services are becoming digitalized and processes are being automated. This leads to new quality challenges around security, usability, and performance. It also discusses the need for increased testing speed to support faster software development processes like DevOps. Quality assurance must focus on building quality into products from the start while also testing iteratively to get faster feedback and continuously deploy updates.
This document discusses mobile application testing. It begins with an introduction to the author's experience in mobile development and quality assurance. It then covers trends in mobile technology and applications. The main sections discuss approaches to testing mobile applications, including requirement analysis, challenges for different mobile platforms, and focus areas for testing like performance, security and compatibility. Automated and manual testing strategies are also outlined.
Combining Automated Functional And Load TestingRanorex
This document discusses integrating Ranorex automated functional testing with NeoLoad load testing. It begins with introducing the companies and tools, then discusses how performance impacts user experience. Automated functional testing benefits like speed and coverage are reviewed. While functional and load testing are typically separate, combining them allows validating critical workflows under real load and finding issues earlier. A workflow is proposed where automated tests and exploratory testing are augmented with load testing. A live demonstration then follows.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.
