Ebay was founded in 1995 and has since grown to over 200 million users by 2006. While ebay's business model of deriving revenue from fees charged to buyers and sellers using its platform has proven successful, it now faces challenges in maintaining growth. These include lack of interest from top sellers in incorporating new features, difficulties keeping up with varying international laws, and issues around auction integrity and large-scale customer service. Ebay is trying to address these problems through expansion, additional buyer protections, partnerships with competitors, the acquisition of PayPal, and initiatives to improve customer communication and feedback. Management must ensure new services satisfy customers while technological and organizational changes support ongoing adaptations to sustain long term viability.

The Opportunity
Nick Swinmurn founded the company in 1999 after spending a day at a San Francisco mall looking
for a pair of shoes and returning home empty-handed. If one store had the right style, it did not have
the right color; the next store had the right color, but it did not have the correct size. Nick tried to
locate the shoes he wanted online, but after a frustrating day of browsing, he discovered that he was
unable to find what he wanted online.
Swinmurn discovered that there was no major online retailer that specialized in shoes. So, he decided
to create a Web site that offered the very best selection in shoes in terms of brands, styles, colors,
sizes, and widths.
The
Solution
The company’s strategy was to offer such a huge selection that the customers would say WOW! And
by 2009 this selection exceeded 3.3 million items (from 1,200 vendors)—unmatchable by any online
or offline store.
The company’s initial business model was to sell only online, and only shoes. This model has
evolved to also sell several related products ranging from jewelry to.
The document discusses strategies for generating revenue online, including building and buying revenue-generating websites. It provides tips for determining topics to write about that will attract readers and make money through advertising. Some key points discussed are using Google Adwords and Alerts to find popular search topics, curating and editorializing others' content, and building authority in specific topic areas over time to increase search engine rankings and traffic. The overall goal discussed is to build multiple streams of online revenue through websites and online businesses.

How to start Dropshipping Aliexpress using woocommerce Guide deba akram
This document provides information about dropshipping and how to start a successful dropshipping business using AliExpress. It defines dropshipping as a process where the retailer does not keep goods in stock but instead transfers customer orders and shipment details to a third party, who then ships the goods directly to the customers. It outlines the benefits of dropshipping as having low startup costs, no inventory risks, and an international customer reach. It also promotes using AliExpress as a supplier and installing the AliDropship plugin to easily import products and manage the store. Overall, the document serves as a guide for newcomers on how to choose products, set up a site, import items, optimize pricing and marketing strategies for a dropshipping business.

In conclusion, while Amazon is growing faster, eBay has a more advanced interface and is more user-friendly. Recommendations include improving interfaces and delivery options.
Kevin hillstrom mine_thatdata_catalogu2015Sarah Fletcher
What a great Pub Talk! If you haven't had the pleasure of listening to Kevin Hillstrom, you're in for a treat. If you are already familiar with Kevin and his Mine That Data blog, sit back and enjoy, this is well worth your time.
The Funny changing world of catalogs
Using his remarkable career with companies like Lands' End, Eddie Bauer and Nordstroms, Kevin starts off with a cartoon strewn review of the major shifts in the industry, from the heyday of catalogs through the advent of the internet, co-ops and the demographic disconnect we are seeing today.
Different Paths
When marketers look at E-commerce versus catalogs they sometimes miss the inherent differences that shape the selling space and customers for each channel. Kevin presents the different paths each takes and the different outcomes that result from the different paths. It's an eye opener.
Trend #1 = Merchandise Productivity
Merchandising forensics have taught Kevin that the number one threat to catalogers is the decline of merchandise productivity. He explains both the short term results and the longterm impact of reduced merchandise productivity and offers a fun way for merchants, marketers and creative to compete together in a tournament of success.
Trend #2 = How will We Acquire a New Customer in 2020?
Did you know that Buzzed is getting 37% of it's traffic through Facebook? Snapchat is another 21%. That is an enormous shift from 10 or even 5 years ago. With such an ever-changing landscape of customer focus how can merchants stay relevant? Kevin offers his view into the future and lays out several ways to look at which direction different companies should be heading.
Trend #3 = How will We Avoid Paying Tolls?
Tolls, (aka expenses) are killing catalogs. How can you reduce those tolls? First you have to know where they are and what they cost. The smartest companies identify low-cost customer acquisition programs that bypass the toll collecting process. Kevin offers some benchmarking to see if you're paying too much and shows how understanding your customer can show you where to focus your toll reducing efforts. He offers ten tips to help you bypass some of those costs.
This is one of our favorite Pub Talks so far. Let us know what you think and if you have any questions for Kevin he'd love to hear from you as well.
The document summarizes key points from a series of events hosted by eChampions.co.uk on digital marketing topics. Job Title: Visual Merchandiser
Education and Training
1. Based on job descriptions, it looks like companies want a high school diploma or GED, 1 – 2 years of design or display experience and/or a design or interior design degree from an accredited institution.
Job Skills, Talents, Experience
1. Special skills and personality traits include an understanding of marketing; great communication skills; attention to detail; knowledge of what is in fashion; understanding the budget for displays and marketing materials and the ability to design something great within the budget; knowledge of how to make a display that is aesthetically pleasing and ability to present things and put them together; a creative mindset with a background in design and knowledge of color theory. It would need to be someone who does not mind working late at night or early in the morning since the displays are done when the customers are not there.
2. Being at The Art Institute is great experience because we take color theory and design classes. Volunteering to set up displays for nonprofit organizations at their events is another way to gain experience.
3. I enjoy designing displays and have a good eye for making presentations look good. Throughout grade school I always enjoyed designing my presentations and poster boards creatively so I think I would like this job.
Earnings
1. The average salary in Denver is $32,595 annually (Glassdoor.com). A starting salary in New York City is $30,000 a year (Complex.com). The average salary in Chicago is $29,000 annually (Indeed.com). The national average is $31,320 annually (Glassdoor.com).

3. The most challenging thing would be keeping the displays looking new and fresh. Typically store windows are not that big so there is not a lot of space to work with. I think it would also be tough to work odd hours like late at night.
Conclusion
1. I learned that the salary for this position isn’t as high as I would expect. There is a lot more to this job including making reports and working with a team than what I originally thought. From first glance, I would assume this position is mostly independent work but based on my research it looks like a lot of teamwork.

2. I do not think this would be a go ...

Breaking Silos To Break Bank: Shattering The Divide Between Search And SocialNavah Hopkins
At Mozcon 2024 I shared this deck on bridging the divide between search and social. We began by acknowledging that search-first marketers are used to different rules of engagement than social marketers. We also looked at how both channels treat creative, audiences, bidding/budgeting, and AI. We finished by going through how they can win together including UTM audits, harvesting comments from both to inform creative, and allowing for non-login forums to be part of your marketing strategy.
I themed this deck using Baldur's Gate 3 characters: Gale as Search and Astarion as Social

Reality check - it has already begun - the time to take action is now. The good news is that there are solutions available and ready for adoption… but for many the race to catch up to the modern internet risks being a messy, confusing scramble to get back to "normal"

4. AMAZON PROJECT OVERVIEW
❑ We listed over 30000 SKUs on Amazon Store using Bulk Option where the products were mainly
Hoodies and t-shirts).
❑ We Did Basic Listing Optimization on Amazon and later on implemented SEO (title, bullets,
descriptions, attributes, and search terms Optimization) for Hoodies.
❑ Later on, we listed approximately 80 Leotards on Amazon. We optimized them and implemented
SEO to increase search visibility.
HOLISTIC ECOMMERCE SOLUTION WWW.HOLISTICOMMERCE.COM 4
5. EBAY PROJECT OVERVIEW
❑ We listed over 1000 Hoodies (300000 SKUs) on Ebay, approx. 100 Leotards (1000 variations)
and 100 more Snood /Buffs on Ebay.
❑ We optimized the listings and implemented Ebay SEO to rank our listings on Ebay’s first page.
We developed our product page meticulously. Later on, We created an Ebay Listing template to
link our listings with one another.
❑Finally we design our Ebay store and give it a professional touch to make is more user-friendly.
We improved its navigation system to make our products easily searchable by categories.
❑We increased listing and selling limits on Ebay and deleted unsold items for the last 3 years to
tidy up and create spaces for new products. We resolved technical issues related to our Ebay
Accounts and products.
HOLISTIC ECOMMERCE SOLUTION WWW.HOLISTICOMMERCE.COM 5
6. ETSY PROJECT OVERVIEW
❑ We helped the client to open a store on Etsy Marketplace as we had the Etsy-friendly product
category. That means we started our journey to a new marketplace and launched our products
there.
❑On Etsy, we uploaded Leotards only. As Etsy had no Bulk system in 2019, we manually uploaded
80 products (approx. 600 variations) on Etsy.
❑We implemented an advanced level of Etsy SEO to ensure the ranking on Etsy Homepage. We
optimized titles, bullets, and descriptions and used keywords based strategy.
❑ We were continuously falling behind our competitors in relevant keywords. So, we continuously
worked with relevant keywords like “gymnastics leotard, ballet leotard, dance outfit, etc.” and
eventually confirmed a stable position on the Etsy Search engine.

7. FRUUGO PROJECT OVERVIEW
❑ Just like ebay, we listed over 1000 Hoodies (300000 SKUs), and approx. 100 Leotards (1000
variations on Fruugo marketplace.
❑ We optimized the listings and implemented Fruugo SEO to rank our listings on Fruugo
Marketplace. We created SEO-friendly product descriptions and used the bulk method to upload
them on Fruugo.

8. Work History & Outcome (Amazon)
Amazon: Ugly Duck Clothing was selling its products on Amazon with a different name. They sold only T-
shirts there. When we were assigned the responsibility to upload 2 CSV files of thousands of hoodies,
we noticed many violations on the Amazon store. Although they were selling products since 2012 on
Amazon, the copyright issue happening since 2018. So, there’s a risk of account deactivation on
Amazon. Eventually, it happened there after we upload the 1000 new designs of Hoodies & snoods. So,
we had to restart Amazon with a new store named “UD G……cs). We only uploaded the Leotards and
Hoodies there. We created variation listings for each item and implemented Basic SEO to increase
search visibility.
It was hard to get sales at the beginning as ranking was a critical issue in common search terms.
Besides the competitors listings had hundreds of positive reviews. So, we run 2 PPC campaigns to have
a bunch of sales. Later on, the client requested us to focus on other marketplaces as they were
unhappy with the situation that happened with the first Amazon Store.
HOLISTIC ECOMMERCE SOLUTION WWW.HOLISTICOMMERCE.COM 8
9. Work History & Outcome (Ebay)
Ugly Duck Clothing was selling on Ebay since 2016. They had only T Shirts listed there. But they had thousands of
unsold items. We immediately informed the facts to the clients. Besides, they had no limits left to uploading any new
SKUs.
Considering the account states, we created an action plan for Ebay. As Ebay had some copyright issues too, we
suggested the client remove all unsold items for the last 16 months. Because they were not letting us upload any
new products because of the Ebay selling limit policy. We increased the ebay limits in two ways. 1. Deleting the
unsold items, 2. contacting the ebay support team.
After handling the Ebay selling limit issues, we started fine-tuning the existing active items (t-shirts). We updated all
the active t-shirt listings using bulk methods. As there, were thousands of t-shirts, we had thorough research to
insert relevant keywords on titles and product descriptions.
After that we listed 1000 new designs of hoodies and snoods with SEO-optimized titles and product descriptions.
We had been able to rank on Ebay Search engine for several relevant keywords like kid’s hoodie, men’s hoodie etc.
HOLISTIC ECOMMERCE SOLUTION WWW.HOLISTICOMMERCE.COM 9
10. Work History & Outcome (Ebay)
After working with 1000 Hoodies, we were assigned responsibilities to launch brand new
gymnastics leotards on Ebay.
Launching Leotards on Ebay was challenging as we had many powerful competitors who are
selling thousands of Leotards each month. So, we listed the Gymnastic Leotards and did Ebay
SEO for them. But we were not getting the expected outcome. So, we made an action plan for
Leotards only.
We designed an ebay listing template for Gymnastic Leotards alone. We created Html and
JavaScript-based templates to input more relevant keywords into the product page. We injected
keywords into our listing, used anchor, optimized images with alt, and created div sections to
make the page user-friendly. Our responsive template helped us to link our other products under
the “Featured/suggested products” section. Finally, we link the listings to our Brand Store.
HOLISTIC ECOMMERCE SOLUTION WWW.HOLISTICOMMERCE.COM 10
11. Work History & Outcome (Ebay)
Within a few days, we start getting sales and we had many leotards on Ebay Top pages. We were
continuously developing the Ebay Listings to firm our position in relevant search terms such as
“Gymnastic Leotards, Ballet Outfit, Dance Outfit, Ballet Dancewear, etc.” Eventually, good ranks
helped us get sales more and more.
Thenceforth, clients planned to launch Snood /Buffs/head scarf/ Snoods and Buffs. We listed
several types of Snoods and buffs. We did the aforementioned things, done with leotards. We had
been able to grow our sales within the shortest possible of time. It took only 10 days to start
getting sales in those categories. We had a huge amount of sales of sports-related Snoods/
Buffs.
Our sales grew eventually on other newly launched products including Gymnastic Leotards, and
hoodies too. That was a difficult journey at the beginning. But we eventually got success.
HOLISTIC ECOMMERCE SOLUTION WWW.HOLISTICOMMERCE.COM 11
12. Work History & Outcome (Fruugo)
Ugly Duck Clothing was selling products on Fruugo since 2017. Like Ebay and Amazon, they were selling
T-Shirts. So, we helped them with the plan to sell hoodies, snoods, and Leotards on that marketplace.
According to the client’s request, we figured out how to create a bulk sheet and optimize that to list
products on Fruugo. Like other marketplaces, Fruugo has some rules too.
We studied Fruugo and then created a bulk sheet to list 1000 Designs of products. We optimized them
in a similar way we did for Ebay as they work exactly the similar way. So, we didn’t have to face many
hurdles for this.
Consequently, we optimized Leotards listings, Implemented SEO for them. It didn’t take so long to grow
our business on Fruugo. We started getting sales and ranks on Fruugo within a week. That was a very
quick turnover we didn’t expect. Richard Sir was very happy and optimistic about that.
HOLISTIC ECOMMERCE SOLUTION WWW.HOLISTICOMMERCE.COM 12
13. Work History & Outcome (Etsy)
Unlike Amazon and eBay Etsy doesn’t sell all types of products. It has different policies and rules to
conduct business there.
When were working with Amazon, eBay, and Fruugo, we motivated our client to open an store on Etsy.
So, Richard sir opened an account and suggested that we would work with Leotards only.
So, it was a very different game compared to the other marketplaces we did. Because Etsy is a very
different search engine. The ranking system doesn’t work like Amazon or Ebay. We used extensive
keyword research to rank our products on Etsy. We used keyword stuffing methods to stable our
position on the Etsy search engine.
After optimizing the listings on Etsy, we started getting ranks on relevant keywords. Within a few weeks,
we got our products on Etsy featured pages of similar categories. That was a huge boost for our store.
These rankings helped us get a lot of sales at the same time.

15. Unexpected Part
We were doing pretty well. The sales were growing day by day. We had thousands of dollars of
sales each month from Ebay and Fruugo Marketplaces whereas Etsy started to show its growth.
In 2020, July whenever we thought of focusing on Amazon to survive and make a stable position,
Covid 19 made everything down. We started to notice a fall in sales on all marketplaces. It was
very hard to continue working with the client as he wasn’t getting enough sales. The massive
reason was the economic fall of the UK. Covid 19 was a massive problem for every business at
that time. So, it was a very tough decision to continue business there on Amazon, Ebay, Fruugo
and Etsy marketplaces.
Our client, Richard Gates, was thinking of taking a break from those marketplaces and restarting
the business after a few months. But that didn’t happen. So, he switched the business model
later on and shut down the store on all marketplaces.
