Universal Design for Learning is a framework for designing flexible learning environments that provide supports to meet the needs of all students, especially those with disabilities or diverse backgrounds. It avoids labeling learners and instead focuses on removing barriers in curricula. When students encounter a learning environment designed with UDL principles, they can acquire necessary knowledge and skills through the flexibility. Limitations are in the design not the learner's capacity. Supports should be available when needed, such as translations, integrating text and graphics, vocabulary, and idioms for bilingual learners.
