3. Marriage:
A Muslim male is permitted to marry as many as four wives.
The polygamy among the Muslim men is only a permission but
not a compulsion.
Divorce:
In the matter of divorce the position of the Muslim women is
inferior & insecure.
The method of divorcing the wife by the husband by
pronouncing triple “Talak” is highly discriminatory.
4. Maintenance:
The divorced Muslim wife is not required to be maintained
beyond the ‘Iddat’ period.
As per the Sec. 125 of the Cr.P.C. a Muslim husband have to
maintain his divorced wife even beyond the Iddat period.
