The document discusses ways that Uber could enhance its service and platform beyond just transportation. It suggests that Uber could become an international content platform by allowing riders to anonymously share content they see on their phones with subsequent riders. Popular shared content could be featured locally, regionally, and nationally on an online channel. It also proposes that the Uber app could provide information about local history and areas to discover to mimic what taxi drivers offer and attract more riders through educational "ride along" experiences.
Uber for business imc final presentationJorge Tatto
Despite the advantages offered by Uber for Business, it has faltered in its adoption. Uber approached us to help them with the following specific problems that are addressed in this report:
• Low awareness of Uber for Business service amongst business community
• Adoption resistance due to constant media attention
• Dormant accounts, low activity after signup
• Incomplete employee account activation
In terms of results, we were given a few objectives to cover by Uber that will be addressed with our integrated marketing communications strategy:
• Improve signups of businesses on a per week basis
• Encourage dormant accounts to be active and increase the average rides per active account per week
Tactical Brand Marketing Plan - UBER Munich, GermanyEvelyn Sindermann
A market analysis of UBER in the German market (Munich) with recommendations for a tactical brand strategy that increases revenue to €8.2M by the end of 2015 and doubles the market share to 14.8% by 2020.
These slides use concepts from my (Jeff Funk) course entitled Biz Models for Hi-Tech Products to analyze the business model for Uber’s taxi service. Uber’s service enables anyone to provide taxi services and it provides dynamic pricing for better matching of supply and demand. Its value proposition for potential drivers is the opportunity to work as driver on their own hours. Its value proposition for user to lower taxi fares during most times of the day and a higher supply of taxis (and higher prices) during peak demand. The customers are tech-savvy and smart phone users who value their time. Uber receives payments directly from customers and keeps a percentage of these payments as its income. Uber’s patents for a demand-price algorithm represent a barrier of entry and thus a method of strategic control.
Analysis UBER's strategy.
1. Define the problem UBER has tried to solve. (from both supplier and consumer's points of view)
2. Transportation industry(Taxi) before UBER
3. How UBER business actually works
4. Their international strategy
5. Five forces analysis
6. Challenges and suggestions

Graphic and interaction design are two fields critical to software development that — unlike code have — have not yet nourished a successful collaboration model. What can we learn from the Wordpress community’s latest attempts to involve designers in the open source process? Can we simply apply the same collaboration methods from code to design? And what other examples and models are available for us to borrow from? What are the challenges of networked collaboration in the creative process? Can they and how might they be solved? Or is it just that designers don’t like to work together? Mushon will be presenting and leading a discussion on the subject with examples from the Wordpress community, his own work, and the research done in his Open Source Design class taught in Parsons’ AAS Program in Graphic Design. Speaker: Mushon Zer-Aviv.

The Village Economy - By Terrence Rohan
We believe we are entering a period of profound change, a new economic and cultural era, driven by three tectonic shifts:
1. A return to the city. Cities are growing and suburbs are dying, as we now seek to live and work in walkable urban centers. Cities already account for 60% of global GDP. As we live in greater density, ideas and people mix more, and economic output and creativity accelerates.
2. The coming of age of millennial values. Gen Y will become 75% of the global workforce within the next ten years. Authenticity, passion and meaning are the driving motivators in this generation. The sharing economy, the gig economy, B Corps, makers and hackers, are all economic expressions of these new values.
3. The global renaissance in technology. The 3rd industrial revolution is now underway. Until 2005, technology accounted for less than 3% of global GDP. Going forward, it will transform every aspect of human activity and every industry - from transportation, housing/hospitality and food, to health, education and commerce.
As we urbanize under new values, and technology reconfigures every industry, this creates incredible opportunities in what we call, "The Village Economy."
The result is radical companies like Uber, Airbnb, Etsy, GoodEggs, and BlaBlaCar, as well as an army more to come.

6. Drivers- Driver tales
For us after the Iran-Iraq war, many of our cousins and uncles became cabbies. They
might have been professors or business leaders before but after the war they became
entrepreneurs and drove in-between. You could find some wise drivers. They would
share some profound tales. They would listen to the news all day. Some of them would
listen to academic tapes. Probably my favorites were the ones who knew stuff about
local history or geography. A mini tour guide. The ones that shared with you unique
music or bits about the market or sports were fun too. Each ride had its own identity
and would be enlightening in some way. [Tehran Taxi Trailer]
7. Riders- Pool your know together
I think UBER can have a very innovative content strategy as well, using geo
tagged and user generated content to enhance human capital as well.
UBER Daily
What if UBER could become an international content platform?
Many riders check their Facebook feed or other news feeds. What if, they could
anonymously share those gems with the next rider? What if the next rider could up or
down that piece of content and contribute his own? What if the most liked pieces would
bubble up locally, regionally, and nationally and shared via an online content platform. I
bet it would generate traffic, making UBER not just an innovative transportation
company with no vehicles, but also an innovative international content channel.
Local Discovery Ride Along
What if the app could teach you about the area?
London Cabbies let you know about local history. Apps like Google Field
Trip and Historypin allow users to get access to a special fabric of the place. Perhaps
by adding such novel features, San Francisco riders would forego Lyft & hop on for a
ride along. (Ride Along Trivia Games are another idea. Ex. Cash Cab)
