Should Everyone Go to College?
“Should Everyone Go to College? I do not think so. How about you?” Education is the cultivation of human activities. Everyone has different views on education. College is where people are educated. Everyone has the right to education. (The European Convention on Human Rights, published in 1952 and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, issued by the United Nations in 1966, recognize this right.) In “Should Everyone Go to College? (Owen 和 Sawhill)”, Stephanie Owen and Isabel Sawhill argue that not everyone has to go to college. College is not for everyone and tuition is very expensive. I agree with Owen and Sawhill’s view that people need to consider a lot of things before they go to college. People have three factors to consider clearly before they go to college: their major, which college is suitable for themselves, and their learning ability.
First, students should rationally choose their major to prepare for their future work. Major is very important for every student. Students should choose their major before they enroll the class. After graduation, students can find their work according to their major. In the article “College Major More Important Than Degree Itself (Fairbanks)” by Amanda M. Fairbanks, she talked about the income of each job is different. Such as petroleum engineers earned $120,000 a year, but college counselors and psychologists earned an average of $29,000. Engineering, computer science and business got the highest salaries in her report. Education, social work and counseling got lower earning. She said that the choice of major is especially critical now when the labor market is so very competitive. Students chosen major has critical, far-reaching consequences. In summary, choose a good major is very helpful for people’s work.
Secondly, different students are suitable for different college, people should choose the college that suit their own. There are many college in the United States. Each school is suitable for different people. In the article “How do I know if a college is right for me? (Gil)” by Gil Villanueva, He talked about students need to think about their academic fit and social fit. They need to figure out if a college has all the academic programs that you might be interested in and will that be available to you. Not every school has the same class. Such as art. Some college do not pay much attention to the development of art. They might be lack of art class. In short, everyone will have different interests. People should choose their own major according to their real needs.
Thirdly, everyone has different learning ability, people should clearly understand their own learning ability. In the article “Blue collar Brilliance (Rose)” by Mike Rose, he talked about his mother worked at restaurants. His mother did not get the restaurant in this area of education, but his mother is very talented in t ...

Writing an essay is not that hard, almost everybody can do it. But the essay should be in particular way that makes it easier to the reader. For writing a good essay that makes the people like it you can use follow the essay's steps. The good support in the essay is "I read an article in the New York times describing a 'collage application essay…," Liz (213,) the author Liz Addison, juggle chooses this quote because it fits in the right place and that shows that what ability the writer has. Typography & its affect on people
Higher interest rates mean slower
economic growth and less job creation.
Under normal circumstances, the effects of a
50 bp increase in 10-year rates would be
really big: cutting GDP growth by about 1.5
percentage points over two years and costing
about a million jobs.

In 2012, a writer for the New York
Times conducted an interesting
experiment. It was thought to be a
simple quiz to find out if the reader
was an optimist or pessimist.
In reality it was a test seeing if
typefaces had an effect on a readers
perception of credulity and their
confidence.

17. Legibility
The ease in which individual glyphs (e.g.
characters, punctuation) are recognizable and
distinguishable from one another.
Saturday, September 14, 13
18. Readability
Focuses on larger sections of text. How much effort and
strain does it take to read extended amounts of content.
(e.g. a blog post)

19. 1. Font Style and Purpose
The font you choose has a huge role in readability. Certain
fonts are built specifically to be used at larger sizes. These
are typically labelled as Display Fonts like we discussed.
In general, the paragraph/body font is what you’ll want to
put more attention into, as it has a larger affect on the
usability and readability.

Other than actual legibility of the letters themselves, one of
the easiest ways to spot a candidate for a good font for use
at smaller sizes is the x-height.

22. A few Questions to Ponder
Do you or others struggle when going from one line to the next in
a paragraph?
- The Leading (Line-Height) could be too small
- The Measure (Line-Length) could be too large
Are your font sizes too small?
- Different typefaces are built for different size scales.
- There is no excuse for small type. The Fold DOES NOT exist.
Your readers will be happier with larger type.
Are you using fonts not built with readability in mind?
- Do a little research and find out.
- Don’t use Papyrus (I’m looking at you Alternative Health Sites)
