Turia is a commune in Romania composed of two villages, Alungeni and Turia. It became part of Romania in 1920 and is located in the valley of the same name at an altitude of 595 meters, surrounded by mountains. The village economy is predominantly agricultural, with crop and livestock production, as well as some trade and rural tourism. Notable landmarks include a 16th century fortified Reformed church, Balvanyos Fortress which offers medical treatments, Apor Castle, and the Buffogo Marsh nature reserve. Village activities include festivities, a pig sacrifice festival celebrating culinary culture, and a Hussars academy.
