how much of his information and
intentions to communicate to others.
3. WHY IS TRUTHFULNESS ESSENTIAL
IN COMMUNICATIONS?
• Access to reliable an accurate facts is critical for making
decisions about how to communicate and act ethically.
• Without facts being as reliable and accurate as
circumstances allow communicators are more likely to do
harm or create injustice than do good and act fairly.
4. Some common problems in
communications and its mistakes
• Low empathy. Empathy is putting ourselves in the shoes of another to
understand how they feel.
• Lack of assertiveness. Many people have difficulty asserting their needs.
• Emotion-driven reactivity.
• Not listening actively.
• Making assumptions.
5. • Low of empathy – someone with low empathy may have trouble connecting
to other people’s circumstances. They may believe that a certain event would
never happen to them, or that they could handle the situation much better.
• Lack of assertiveness – a non- assertive person is one who is often taken
advantage of, feels helpless, takes on everyone’s problems, says yes to
inappropriate demands and thoughtless requests, and allow others to choose
for him or her.

6. • Emotion-driven reactivity – refers to the tendency to experience frequent and
intense emotional arousal. You feel that you have no control over what happens or
what you say.
• Not listening actively – being distracted- fidgeting, doodling, looking at a watch,
yawning. Inappropriate expressions and lack of head nods.
• Making assumptions – we assume that people know exactly what we mean. We
assume that people interpret things the same way we do. We assume that we have
been clear enough, emphatic enough, frequently enough to get our point across.

8. Ways how to fix communications
problems
• Process your feelings first – processing emotions is about learning to
understand, make sense of and deal with emotions I healthy
productive ways. Learning to process emotions takes time.
• Thinking about timing – it provides an opportunity for the listener to
accept that it’s a right time to discuss, o reject the timing and take a
raincheck on it for later. Next, gauge their mood. Be receptive to how
they are feeling. Be mindful of what’s going on their life at the
moment.

text and it should be clear what you want to communicate. Make your message clear so
that your partners read accurately and understand what you mean.
11. WHY DO WE NEED TRUTH IN
COMMUNICATION?
• Virtually all creatures living on earth communicate with one another. It is
evident today that animals communicate with one another at every level of
development. The scientific discoveries of the last few years have proved
that plants also represent an intelligent form of life; they behave altruistically
and “think”.
Importantly, the communication system of the non-human world, i.e. the world
animals and plants, are solely based on truth. No dog or cat would ever think
of pretending to love someone just to gain some benefit from the relationship.
12. • In human world , everything seems to be out of order. Human are masters of
deception. Not only ca they pretend to love or be loyal to others, but they are also
very good at lying to themselves. Actually, they sometimes end up believing their own
lies. I would venture to say that the more developed the level of communication, the
less truth and the more manipulation.
• We are usually very reluctant to know the negative truth. We repress the truth in
various ways, rationalize it, deny it, or even express feelings opposite to what we really
feel even in health issues and our relationships.
13. EXAMPE AND RELEVANCE IN
TRUTHFUL COMMUNICATION
• BEING STRAIGHTFORWARD
• TELLING THE TRUTH
• GIVING COMPLETE INFORMATION
• SHOWING INTENT TO BE UNDERSTOOD
• BEING SINCERE
• CHOOSING NOT TO CHEAT
14. CONCLUSION ABOUT TRUTH IN
COMMUNICATION
• Truth telling is imperative for authentic communication
to occur, and makes genuine interaction between people
possible. That is, if truth were not expected, it would not
be long before communication would entirely break
down. Imagine what it would be like living in a society in
which no one expected the truth.
