Theologians like Justin Martyr blended Christian theology with Platonic and Stoic philosophy. He developed the Logos concept which viewed the Son as another emanation of God. 3. Other church leaders such as Melito of Sardis and Athenagoras emphasized the oneness of God and the Father and Son while Theophilus of Antioch was the first to use the word "Trinity" to describe God.
