- Teacher’s role is not minimized, it’s just changed. link goes to teacher’s role in PLE
- teachers and parents need to monitor and help select which games are appropriate and good for learning. Many are not appropriate for certain ages, might be unsafe, etc.
- discuss some of the potential dangers of being uneducated in the digital world
- less focus on structure. The teacher guides and facilitates. At young ages, it’s important that technology is being used to enhance learning and that its not a point of distraction.
- orientation and office hours are important to provide guidance for tech issues and questions. The frustration and newness should not get in the way of education for the new online student.
- Encourage lifelong learning. Students access a blog, a website, an app, an online database. Their goal is the THEIR LEARNING OUTCOME- and this can be reached through multiple resources.
