3. CHARACTERS/STEREOTYPES
 Alice – Stereotypical 16 year using her popularity to get what she
wants and choses who should be her friend. She’s one of the
main characters of the film as she is revealed to be the reason
for Blair’s death; comes across quite one dimensional and
selfish.
Chloe – The quiet one of the group and does what Alice says as
she feels it’s the only way to fit in. Due to Alice’s selfishness she
is the first to be killed by Stephen. The audience will feel
sympathy with Chloe’s character.
Lucy– Alice’s best friend, she follows in Alice’s footsteps and
worships her, even though Alice is selfish etc. Lucy feels that
being in the group is better than not because it’s all about
popularity for her and she wants to be just like Alice.
Ste- Mentally unstable, out for revenge on the people who drove
his sister to commit suicide, motive

6. EDITING AND EFFECTS
 We are going to attempt a montage sequence that
will consist of a number of shots in a linear order to
show the story line. We intend to put them at a fast
pace to emphasise the horror conventions. We
want to intrigue our audience, make sure they get
an understanding of the story whilst creating a
sense of mystery and fear.

7. TITLE SCREENS/TYPOGRAPHY
 Because we want to focus a lot more on the
narrative we will be keeping the typography to a
minimal as we have been discussing whether or not
a narrator will be used. At the end of the trailer we
are going to keep it simple and just use the title
‘Black Crow Woods’ along with ‘coming soon’ along
with a voiceover. This follows the typical structure of
a trailer and I like how title screens accompany the
scene that was before/after. It’s a good way to
break up scenes and have that lingering.

8. TARGET AUDIENCE/USES AND
GRATIFICATIONS/POINTS OF IDENTIFICATION
 We have looked into various films and have
decided our target audience will be 15-24. The
Uses and Gratifications theory links to what
pleasures are provided for the audience when
watching a film. For this to work we need to attract
an audience of the specific
genre, by using certain features
and conventions which we will
include in our trailer to suit the
psychological and slasher genre.
