5. Definition:
Any device that is use for the
movement of the item from one
location to another is called
transportation.
6. Ancient ways of transportation
The first form of transport was, of course,
Shanks pony (the human foot!). However
people eventually learned to use animals
for transport.
7. • Donkeys, horses and camels are used as the
transport from 2000 -4000BC.
• 3,500 BC the wheel was invented in what is
now Iraq. At first wheels were made of solid
pieces of wood lashed together to form a circle
but after 2,000 BC they were made with
spokes.
8. • About 3,100 BC the Egyptians invented the
sailing boat. They were made of bundles of
papyrus reeds tied together.
• In the middle ages of the roman empire they
built up the networks of the roads. The water
transport was also established by them.
9. • In 16 and 17 century the transportation has
been improved, but for using the transport the
peoples have to pay for the using of roads also.
• In 18 century the cannels were made and the
goods were also transported.
10. • In 19 century the roads were advanced
and the spread of railways were there.
The trasportation was revoluationaized .
• In 21 century the transportation is very
common and affortable to common
peoples also. Advancment in the
technology.
12. Animal power
• Animal-powered transport is the use
of working animals for the movement of
people and goods. Humans may ride some
of the animals directly, use them as pack
animals for carrying goods.
13. Air :
• Air transport is the fastest method of
transport. The global trend has been for
increasing numbers of people to travel by
air.
14. Human power:
• Human powered transport, a form of sustainable
transportation, is the transport of people and/or
goods using human muscle-power, in the form
of walking, running and swimming.
15. Land transport :
• Land transport covers all land-based
transportation systems that provide for the
movement of people, goods and services.
Land transport plays a vital role in linking
communities to each other.
16. Water:
• Water transport is the process of transport
that a watercraft, such as a barge, boat,
ship or sailboat, makes over a body of
water, such as a sea, ocean, lake, canal or
river.
17. Importance of transportation :
• Transportation plays a major role in the
economy. It increases the production
efficiency and it links to the logistics
system. Vehicle should have some
characteristics which are used for easy
transport of goods and services.
18. • There are two types of transportation general
and public transport. Its too beneficial both to
cover the passage in few times.
19. Impacts on the environment
• The environmental impact of transport is
significant because transport is a major user
of energy, and burns most of the
world's petroleum.
• The health impact of transport emissions is also
of concern.
20. • By reducing transportation emissions globally, it is
predicted that there will be significant positive effects on
Earth's air quality, acid rain, smog and climate change.
• This creates air pollution, including nitrous
oxides and particulates, and is a significant contributor
to global warming through emission of carbon dioxide.
26. Disadvantages :
• By reducing the transportation the worlds
be quarter of the free from pollution
• Transportation creates the noise and air
pollution which increase the high risks of
high blood pressure ,deafness ,
hypertension, and heart diseases.
