Claire Smout from Skills for Care introduced three topics: the National Minimum Data Set (NMDS-SC), Recruiting and Retaining Staff, and Learning and Development/Apprenticeships. Regarding the NMDS-SC, she explained that it is a database for social care employers to record workforce information and access dashboards to aid workforce planning. She then discussed the Workforce Development Fund, which employers can apply to in order to claim back contributions of up to £15 per credit for units or qualifications completed by their staff. Finally, she provided examples of qualification costs that could be claimed and explained the application process.
EduVantage provides skills training programs in various sectors like IT, telecom, banking, and infrastructure to help individuals gain skills required for jobs or enhance their skills for current employment. They offer both classroom and online training modules focused on technical and soft skills, and work to help students find job placements. The training is delivered by experienced industry professionals and aims to bridge gaps between education and skills needed in different industries.

in the workplace. This combination of theoretical knowledge and
workplace learning results in the achievement of a SAQA registered
qualification or certificate issued by an accredited or
registered formal institution of learning.
