5. People (tourism) influencing climate
• Threat = As the world
seeks solutions to climate
change it looks
increasingly towards
implementing renewable
energy systems. But, the
large potential for
renewable energy has not
been realized due to
many barriers.
• Solution = An important
task is to identify the
means to remove the
economic, regulatory, a
nd institutional
disadvantages that
make renewable energy
less competitive than
other conventional
sources.
7. People (tourism) influencing land
“In simple words, it
is an unorganized
human settlement
which leads to the
disturbances at land
in a high rate of
destruction in land,
money and life.”
8. People (tourism) influencing land
• Threat = Loss of life and money.
• Solution = facilitate the movement of water
into soil, reduction of wind velocity near the
ground level through wind breaks and mainly
afforestation would help it.
9. People (tourism) influencing carbon
Carbon footprint - the
amount of carbon being
emitted.
(Over three-quarters of
these emissions are manmade and are created by
the burning of fossil
fuels for transportation)
10. People (tourism) influencing carbon
• Threats = Everyday activities that seem
virtually harmless, increases carbon
footprint and add to the greenhouse gas
problem.
• Solution = ecological light bulbs(cfl lamps),
using solar energy, tidal energy and wind
energy.
13. People influencing, People
• Threat = Over commercialization, internal conflicts, etc.
• Solution = should go hand in hand with mutual approach
in which it gives mutual benefits .(e.g.) ARTICLE IN HINDU
NEWS PAPER in mutualism 18/09/2012 - In the vast plains
of Africa graze innumerable zebras. Curiously, in their midst
is a flock of ostriches! You wonder why. Zebras can hear and
smell extremely well but have poor eyesight. On the other
hand, the birds have excellent vision and hence, as a group
they watch out for predators.
