STEP Program


Transitioning to Employment
STEP Entry Criteria
   Must be 18- 22 years old
   Complete HS with a Modified or
    Special Diploma
   Prior work experience preferred
   Experience with use of a cell
    phone preferred
The goals of the program are -

   To offer students the opportunity to
    practice work skills and life skills in
    the community.
   To provide classroom instruction,
    community based instruction, and
    career training in a business
    environment.
   Emphasis is on the following
    areas….

 1st week of school- Orientation and
   Team Building
 September- Interview preparation/
  Interview, Career Assessments,
  Writing a Resume, Transportation,
  Safety in the Community
 (Training at Chantilly HS)
 October-June-Work Experience
A Day in the STEP program…


   7:15 Clock In and Fashion Review

   7:30 Depart for Job Site

   8:00 – 1:00 Work on Job Sites
                (30 minute lunch break with coworkers)

   1:30 – 2:00 Curriculum Activities
