The Mossad is Israel's national intelligence agency responsible for intelligence collection, covert operations, and counterterrorism. It was formed in 1949 and reports directly to the Prime Minister. Notable Mossad operations include Operation Plumbat to further Israel's nuclear program and various operations to scout locations to ambush Saddam Hussein. The Ministry of State Security is China's security agency formed through a 1983 merger. It is also China's largest foreign intelligence agency though also involved in domestic security. The Research and Analysis Wing is India's foreign intelligence agency formed in 1968 and focused on counterterrorism, foreign intelligence collection, and protecting India's nuclear program.

3. MOSSAD - ISRAEL
The Mossad which is Hebrew word meaning to say "Institute for Intelligence and
Special Operations is a unit national intelligence agency of Israel. It is one of the main
entities in the Israeli Intelligence Community, along with Aman (military intelligence)
and Shin Bet (internal security).
• The Mossad is responsible for intelligence collection, covert operations, and
counter terrorism, as well as bringing Jews to Israel from countries where official
Aliyah agencies are forbidden, and protecting Jewish communities. Its director
reports directly to the Prime Minister

4. MOSSAD HISTORY
• Mossad was formed on December 13, 1949, as the "Central Institute for
Coordination" at the recommendation of Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion
• Ben Gurion wanted a central body to coordinate and improve cooperation
between the existing security services—the army's intelligence department
(AMAN), the Internal Security Service (Shin Bet), and the foreign office's
"political department". In March 1951, it was reorganized and made a part of
the prime minister's office, reporting directly to the prime minister.

ISRAEL'S NUCLEAR PROGRAM. THE GERMAN FREIGHTER "SCHEERSBERG A"
DISAPPEARED ON ITS WAY FROM ANTWERP TO GENOA ALONG WITH ITS CARGO
OF 200 TONS OF YELLOWCAKE, AFTER SUPPOSEDLY BEING TRANSFERRED TO AN
ISRAELI SHIP.

7. MSS-THE MINISTRY OF STATE SECURITY
The Ministry of State Security (MSS) of the Government of the People's
Republic of China is the security agency of the People's Republic of China. It is
also probably the Chinese government's largest and most active
foreign intelligence agency, though it is also involved in domestic security
matters.
The MSS was established in 1983 as the result of the merger of the CID and the
counter-intelligence elements of the Ministry of Public Security of the People's
Republic of China

11. Functions of ASIS
• To obtain, in accordance with the Government’s requirements,
intelligence about the capabilities, intentions or activities of people or
organisations outside Australia; and
• To communicate, in accordance with the Government’s requirements,

• To liaise with intelligence or security services, or other authorities, of
other countries; and
• To undertake such other activities as the
responsible Minister directs relating to the capabilities, intentions or
activities of people or organizations outside Australia

12. ASIS- History
• The Australian Secret Intelligence Service (ASIS) was established on May 13
1952, as a collector of foreign intelligence, primarily in the Asia-Pacific
region.
• For over twenty years, the existence of ASIS remained a secret, even from
members of the Australian Government. The Service was first referred to in
Parliament in 1975 and was not publicly acknowledged until 1977.
• The then Prime Minister, Malcolm Fraser, informed Parliament that "ASIS's
capacity to serve Australia's national interest will continue to depend on its
activities being fully protected by secrecy". This statement has been
reaffirmed by successive Governments. Today, ASIS is a part of the Foreign
Affairs portfolio and is responsible to the Minister for Foreign Affairs.

13. DGES :- Directorate-General for
External Security - FRANCE
• The General Directorate for External Security is France's
external intelligence agency. Operating under the direction of
the French ministry of defense, the agency works alongside
the DCRI (the Central Directorate of Interior Intelligence) in
providing intelligence and national security, notably by
performing paramilitary and counterintelligence operations
abroad. As with most other intelligence agencies, details of its
operations and organization are not made public.

14. Directorate-General for External
Security
• The DGSE can trace its roots back to 1947
• The DGSE have been shaken by numerous scandals during the
cold war
• As of 2007 the DGSE employed a total of 4,620 agents. In 1999, the DGSE
was known for employing a total of 2,700 civilians and 1,300 Officers or
Non Commissioned Officers in its service.
• It also benefits from an unknown number of voluntary correspondents
(spies) both in France and abroad. These do not appear on the
government's list of civil servants and are referred to with the title
of "honorable correspondant" (honorable correspondent).
