- 1. My Top 10 Music Videos By Matty
- 2. OK GO – Here It Goes Again This video is in my top 10 as I feel it has a simple concept but also is very entertaining to watch. The video was taken in one take showing that they made no errors whilst filming and could remember all of the moves which they had to use at each time. There is a high level of imagination displayed here and it is something that no other artist has been able to replicate.
- 3. Arctic Monkeys - Cornerstone Arctic Monkeys hit ‘Cornerstone’ displays an interesting video as there is nothing actually going on, just singer Alex Turner walking backwards and forwards singing this song. The concept of him searching for a girl who he has been unable to find since he last saw her. You follow his journey to find this girl until he eventually meets her sister.
- 4. Frankie & The Heartstrings - Hunger This video contains a concept which would have been used years ago as the band appear on a Blue Peter set. It is an unusual concept which I have never seen before.
- 5. The Maccabees – Precious Time This video is made up by lots of still photos put together to create a time scale which links with the title of the song. The song shows someone sitting at a desk wasting their ‘precious time’.
- 6. Arctic Monkeys – Fluorescent Adolescent This song uses a video which shows time going back to show how two friends have went their separate ways and have come together one last time in a mass brawl.
- 7. The Last Shadow Puppet – My Mistakes Were Made for You This video links with the lyrics very well as a famous woman has died and at the end of the song the woman walks way unscaved.
- 8. Friendly Fires – Jump in the Pool This video also links with they lyrics very well using the concept of the pool as the main focusing point for the video.
- 9. The Maccabees - Latchmere Like their other video this uses lots of stills which are put together to link with the lyrics. I like the use of still images and would consider using it in my final video.
- 10. The Beatles – Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds Although the song is from early years, The Beatles often put a different view on their music videos. They were usually bright and colourful to go with the image of the band. The animation is unusual for the time period that this video was released in which makes it special.
