Over half of New Zealanders are members of KiwiSaver, with over 2.4 million total members and 1.5 million actively contributing. KiwiSaver balances totaled $33.8 billion in 2016 and helps Kiwis save for retirement while also allowing early withdrawals for hardship, illness, or first home purchases.
