Ok, remember the past tense of ‘eat’ is ‘ate’. And the past tense of ‘give’ is ‘gave’.

Mr Tom, you said that to make the past tense, we must add ‘ ed ’ or ‘ d ’! Yes, I know. You are correct.
So we should say ‘I  gived ’ and ‘I  eated ’! No, you must say ‘I gave’ and ‘I ate’!

English can be very difficult. It can be hard work! There are many words where we do NOT add ‘ ed ’ or ‘ d ’…
