Besides rose diseases, environmental factors can effect your plants too, and they should be watched for an remedied when found. To keep most rose diseases under control, a commercial fungicide will take care of it. In other cases, proper pruning techniques and the maintenance of clean garden implements goes a long way in preventing such conditions from occurring in the first place.
I have found that only two sprays are needed to keep your plants healthy. The first is sulpher. This will work for most of the diseases. But not for black-spot: for this you need Capstan.

This document summarizes information about yams, including that they are a species of monocot vine cultivated for food and pharmaceuticals. It is native to Southeast Asia but widely cultivated in tropical regions of Africa and the Americas. Yams are propagated through tuber cuttings and grown as an annual crop for their starchy tubers. Major producers include Nigeria, Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire, and Brazil. While very productive, yam cultivation requires substantial manual labor for harvesting, storage, and trellising the climbing vines.

This document discusses two pests that damage ber fruits: 1) Ber fruit borer (Meridarchis scyrodes) and 2) Ber fruit fly (Carpomyia vesuviana). It provides details on their identification, life cycles, nature of damage caused, and management strategies. The Ber fruit borer is the most destructive pest, causing up to 70% damage, and lays eggs on ber, jamun, and olive fruits. It can be managed through insecticide sprays and removing shed fruits. The Ber fruit fly causes up to 73% damage and has maggots that feed on fruit pulp, rotting the fruits. Its management involves removing infested fruits, spraying bait mixtures, and insect
This document summarizes information about ergot of bajra or pearl millet, a disease caused by the fungus Claviceps fusiformis. It affects many countries including India, where it is found in states like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra. The disease appears at the flowering stage, producing pink honey-like secretions on spikelets that later form hard, brown sclerotia where grains would be. These sclerotia contain harmful alkaloids and can cause losses of up to 70%. Management strategies include using healthy seed, seed treatment, early sowing, crop rotation, removing infected plants, and fungicide sprays. Resistant varieties include RHR-

This document provides information on diseases that affect onion and garlic crops and their management. It discusses several fungal diseases including downy mildew, purple blotch, stemphylium blight, basal rot/bulb rot, and rust. For each disease, it describes the symptoms, disease cycle, favorable conditions for development, and recommendations for management through cultural practices and fungicide applications. The overall document aims to review the major diseases of onion and garlic and provide strategies to control them.
This document discusses common diseases that affect Capsicum crops including anthracnose, powdery mildew, damping off, alternaria leaf spot, and cercospora leaf spot. It provides details on the symptoms caused by each disease and recommendations for prevention and management, which include using resistant varieties, crop rotation, removing debris, improving drainage, and applying fungicide sprays.
Ginger soft rot is a disease caused by bacteria that enters through contaminated seed rhizomes. It causes pre-emergence damping off if infection occurs before sprouting, and water-soaked brown lesions on the collar region if after. The lesions spread, causing above-ground parts to wilt and die while the rhizome rots into a soft, watery mass. The disease is favored by warm, wet conditions and is managed by planting disease-free rhizomes and applying bactericides.
Breeding technology of Okra
vsc - 503
Okra is a seed propagated hot weather crop sensitive to frost, low temperature, and waterlogging as well as drought conditions. It is a multipurpose crop due its various uses. It is grown in many countries and cultivars from different countries have certain adapted distinguishing characteristics specific to the country to which they belong. In home consumption India tops the world. Genetic diversity exists for number of characters. Genetic resistance involving interspecific crosses have been exploited commercially for Yellow Vein Mosaic virus. Hybrids are very much popular in this crop and the hybrid seed production is based on hand emasculation and hand pollination. Proper isolation is necessary between two fields of two varieties for maintaining the genetic purity of the stock.

This document provides an overview of rice false smut, including its occurrence, symptoms, pathogen, disease cycle, and management. It begins with an introduction and table of contents. Key points include:
- Rice false smut occurs worldwide in all rice growing regions. It causes significant yield losses ranging from 10-75%.
- The pathogen is Ustilaginoidea virens. Disease development is favored by cloudy, humid conditions during rice flowering.
- The disease cycle involves the pathogen infecting rice spikelets and producing spores within smut balls that replace grains.
- Management strategies include rouging of infected plants, selecting disease-free seed, optimizing fertilizer and planting
