2. Preparations for the teams before the mobility
meeting in Denmark
To prepare for the visit to the local company which the Danish team members
have chosen and arranged for, all members of each team must contribute with
ideas and questions for the business company.
You will get access to your powerpoint presentation, there will be one for each
team, by a link on a Google doc which I upload on our facebook group right after
this webinar. (I will explain how Google docs works.)
Students from France, Greece and Spain will write in red,
students from Denmark will write in blue,
teachers will write in black.
3. About the company
Here the Danes will make a description of the company
A local hotel where you can stay for a night and get some good food.
4. Questions for company - remember your colors
What kind of company? The Danes might have answered this question in the former slide.
How many employees?
Which type of employees work in your company?
Which education do you need to get employed?
Is it important to know math to work at your company?
How can you get this education? It might be different in the other countries.
Do you use the math you learned in public school?
Do you remember all the formulas in mind?
Do you use computers or paper and pencil?
What happens if you make a mistake?
Whose fault is it if some of the targets are wrong?
How do you decide on the price you sell your clothes?
5. Ideas for the short movie.....
It is difficult to imagine... but try please.
The following season, the fashion changes dramatically and all the remaining
stock will be outdated. What will the shop owner do to manage to sell it? Put it on
offer in the next season? Organise a bazaar at the end of the current season?
6. Worst case scenario - write your ideas here.
What would happen if the employees don’t know their math?
Imagine the worst case scenario. When is math important?
What happens if one day the store catches fire and all your stock is lost? How will
you make up for the loss?
7. Math in the company
You must create 5 to 10 math problems, which relate to the company you visited.
The math problems must be copied and passed around to all participants of the
project on the Friday where you show your video. After your presentation of your
short film the participants must solve your math problems and finally you will
check that we all understood and completed the task.
