The purpose of this study is to explore the teaching strategies of DepEd
Teachers in addressing communicative competence of Grade 6 students.
Moreover, the goal of this study is to reveal the effects of teachers
strategies if it is effective or not in addressing the lack of communication skills
of students. Then also, what are the learning activity that can give of teachers
in order to improve the self-confidence of students to speak in public. This
study will be conducted in Montevista Central Elementary School.

1. What are the live experiences of teachers in addressing communicative
competence of Grade 6 students?
2. How do you cope with the challenges being a teacher in addressing
communicative competence of students?
3. As a teacher, what are your insights in addressing communicative
competence of Grade 6 students?

Research Design
This research is a qualitative research, which centers in deepening of
understanding about the problem and is not concerned with numerical
representation (Queiros et al., 2017). The phenomenological design is used in
this study. According to Creswell (1998) as cited by Lin (2013), phenomenology
is the recommended methodology when the study goals are to understand the
meanings of human experiences.

METHODOLOGY
Research Participants
The DepEd teachers are the target participants of this study as they
possess the characteristics the researchers seek as participants.
Purposive Sampling is utilized for choosing the participants of the study.
• 5 participants were selected to go through the In-Depth Interview (IDI)
• 5 participants were selected for the Focus Group Discussion (FGD)
A total of 10 participants will be utilized in this study.
