People respond to stressful stimuli in different ways. A lot of people do not know how to manage
stress effectively. You may find the following tips to be immensely helpful when dealing with stress.
Think calm thoughts, don't clench your teeth, and slowly relax the jaw. Your jaw is one place where
stress is frequently expressed. It's helpful to use your index finger to touch your jaw, clench it, take
a deep breath, and then release your jaw as you exhale. This is an exercise to help ease stress and
discomfort.
Develop a short affirmation that you can use to focus yourself. By repeating the affirmation you have
created, you can quell that negative inner voice that so many of us experience when under stress.
You might tell yourself you can overcome the current problem, to calm down, or whatever helps you
cope in an adaptive manner.
Write your stress away. If you are uncomfortable about sharing your feelings of anxiety with others,
putting your feelings down on paper can give you a sense of release and control that will help reduce
the stress. Save these writings in the form of a journal that you can use as a reference to see how
you handled stressful situations in the past when you run into stressful situations in the future.
Reduce your stress at all times, and put yourself in the best position to minimize your worries. If a
relationship is contributing too much drama and anxiety to your life, try to put some space between
you and the other person. Getting rid of stress sources can incredibly improve both your health and
attitude.
Try drinking some relaxing tea to reduce your stress. Select a tea with ingredients that are known to
be very soothing, such as chamomile or passionflower. Steep your chosen tea for about 10 minutes
