Jesus is a good shepherd who knows and cares for each of his sheep. The story tells of a shepherd who had one hundred sheep but realized one was missing from the flock. He searched everywhere in the dark until he found the lost sheep. The shepherd brought the sheep back safely to the pen, rejoicing that it was no longer lost. Jesus uses this story to teach that he cares for his followers as a shepherd cares for his sheep, and that he does not want any of them to be lost.

5. Jesus stands at the gate of the sheep pen.

6. Jesus will take care of any little sheep that asks to come into the
gate of the sheep pen. Those sheep will be saved.

7. The shepherd will make sure that His sheep have everything they
need.

8. Jesus once told a story about a man who owned one hundred
sheep.

9. Every evening he would count to make sure that all the sheep had
come back from the pasture.

10. One evening he was counting his sheep.“Oh no, one sheep is
missing!”the shepherd cried.

11. The shepherd quickly closed the gate of the sheep pen and hurried
to find his lost sheep.

12. He went out in the dark to search for his lost sheep.

13. He looked everywhere. In the forest, …

14. …on top of the hills, ...

15. …and even between the rocks.

16. Until at last, he found his little lost sheep!

17. The shepherd was overjoyed. He put the sheep on his shoulder and
carried it all the way to the sheep pen.

18. At last the little sheep was safe in the pen again...,

19. ...home with its other sheep friends!

20. Jesus told His disciples,“I tell you this story, so that you will know
that I care for you.”

21. Jesus is like the shepherd. He doesn’t want one little sheep to be
lost.

22. He will always take care of you, because He loves you very much.
