Many people consider these issues to be inter-related or overlapping aspects of doing business in the 21st century. A senior manager suspects his company, with some extra cost, could be kinder to the environment. Yet many people who want to drive changes like these face an uncomfortable dilemma. If they speak out too loudly, resentment builds toward them; if they play by the rules and remain silent, resentment builds insi.

Module Overview
Questions of right action can become particularly difficult for leaders in cross-cultural or international situations. Questions of the morality of doing business or forming alliances with countries where political repression or violation of civil rights is common are troublesome. How should a leader deal with expectations of bribery? What if the other country violates U.S. environmental or health laws? Does one live by the home-country rules or adopt an attitude of “When in Rome…”?
Without shared moral values or common laws, the choice of actions that should be taken constitute a real conundrum. How to resolve these matters? What tools exist to help the leader choose the ethical course?
To date, leaders cannot rely on international law related to ethical conduct, but there are some guidelines. An organization's “company code” is the first place to start. These codes set guidelines for employees to operate across borders. They may expressly forbid the taking of bribes, for example, or entering into agreements or joint ventures that violate U.S. law. These codes have both proactive and reactive advantages: helping uncertain leaders respond to murky situations in a foreign environment—while at the same time attracting highly ethical leaders who want to be part of a socially responsible organization.
There also exist international standards and codes of conduct such as the United Nations Global Compact and the Consumer Charter for Global Business. There are more targeted codes of conduct such as the ILO Conventions, and OECD Guidelines. These standards do not have the “teeth” that international law would have, but they can help leaders determine what the best course of action is.
While business standards and codes can be helpful to leaders, they do not help to develop a fundamental understanding of what drives ethical dilemmas in a cross-cultural environment or how leaders should respond to them. Indeed, in a cross-cultural study of business managers, participants ranked the importance of factors that lead to unethical behavior. Surprisingly, social norms of morality and personal advantage or gain were not even ranked. Instead, the single most important factor was the attitudes and behaviors of their leaders. (Dolcheck & Dolcheck (1987). In this module, we will be looking at three major topics that will lead to a broad perspective on how attitudes and behaviors affect ethical leadership.

Although some argue that people are innately inclined to
behave unethically out of self-interest, 4 our research
reveals that organizational ethics matter significantly to
most employees and managers, and that people want to
work for employers whose values and principles are
aligned with their own. This suggests that ethical
employers are likely to attract and retain ethical
employees. 5 What’s more, research has shown a link
between ethical leadership and task performance,
organizational citizen.

Today’s workforce is a diverse pool of people from multiple generations who bring distinct perspectives, work attitudes and work behaviors to the workforce. A leading challenge for employers has become how to manage a multigenerational workforce effectively. The collaboration, cooperation and creation of a company that is based on the coexistence of four generations, foster a high work performance environment, implement policies and procedures that support the vision of the organization, while creating an environment that values and respect cultural differences and diversity.
Multi-generation
Traditionalists (1925/1949) “silent” respect the chain of command. This generation is loyal and expect a long-term relationship with the company; can be great mentors for the company. And the Boomers (1946/1964) have experience and knowledge. This generation prefer leadership style and ensure to make a difference. Their communication preference is, face to face, personal interaction, personal calls and e-mail. Something interesting about this group is that they do not want to retire, which is challenging companies to learn how to manage this generation.
Generation X (1961/1981) seek work-life balance. This generation is flexible, independent, and a generation of entrepreneurs. They value freedom and responsibility in the workplace, have a disdain for structured work hours and being micromanaged. Communication preference for this generation is, via e-mails, conference calls, and text messages. And the Millennials (1982/2000)are the most diverse and most educated generation. Their work-life balance has to be part of their work, this generation desires flexibility. This generation is optimistic, multitask, and tech-savvy. Millennials communicate with the whole world through social networks, text messages, blogs, and e-mail (McNamara, n.d.).
Will there be challenges managing a multigenerational workforce? Yes there will be, however a company that creates a culture for managing a multigenerational workforce will be successful. Some of the challenges may be, recruiting, training, how to overcome communication styles, generational stereotypes and cultural differences. These challenges can be overcome by the company establishing policies and procedures that addresses company expectations in the workforce and creating a diverse culture that foster a culture for all generations.

For my Global Marketing Plan, I elected to open a Walmart in New Zealand. The immediate appeal of New Zealand for me was the similarities between the country and the United States. Walmart has attempted to open locations in countries such as South Korea, Germany, and India in the past and has been met with hardship due to political and cultural differences. New Zealand seems like a wiser choice based on the similarities, as well as the need in the country for goods due to its remote location.
Geert Hofstede created a model based on his identification of five dimensions of cultural variation in values in 50 countries and three regions (Cascio & Aguinis, 2019). The dimensions are based on basic issues that countries deal with but handle in various ways. The five dimensions include power distance, uncertainty avoidance, individualism, masculinity, and long-term versus short-term orientation (Cascio & Aguinis, 2019). New Zealand has many similarities to the US, so it is natural that they identify similarly in the five dimensions of cultural variation. The dimension that New Zealand falls best under as a low tolerance is power distances. Holmes (2018) states that "New Zealanders do not comfortably tolerate explicit demonstrations of power, and people typically seek ways of reducing status differences and of emphasising equality with their colleagues" (pg. 36). New Zealand does have native cultures, such as the Maori, however much of the country is a melting pot. This has led to the nation to be very focused on equality and not viewing others above different groups.
Understanding this dimension of cultural value, as well as where New Zealand stands on the others is important from a talent management perspective because it is important to hire employees based on job-fit. If an employee needs a structure where there are very clearly defined lines and relationships for leadership, they may not be a good fit into an organization in New Zealand where everyone is treated the same. Additionally, it is important for an outside country to understand the cultural demands of the nation they are entering in order to attract and retain top talent. Employees want to know that the company they are employed by shares the same values as them and the patrons they serve.

For my Global Marketing Plan, I elected to open a Walmart in New Zealand. The immediate appeal of New Zealand for me was the similarities between the country and the United States. Walmart has attempted to open locations in countries such as South Korea, Germany, and India in the past and has been met with hardship due to political and cultural differences. New Zealand seems like a wiser choice based on the similarities, as well as the need in the country for goods due to its remote location.
Geert Hofstede created a model based on his identification of five dimensions of cultural variation in values in 50 countries and three regions (Cascio & Aguinis, 2019). The dimensions are based on basic issues that countries deal with but handle in various ways. The five dimensions include power distance, uncertainty avoidance, individualism, masculinity, and long-term versus short-term orientation (Cascio & Aguinis, 2019). New Zealand has many similarities to the US, so it is natural that they identify similarly in the five dimensions of cultural variation. The dimension that New Zealand falls best under as a low tolerance is power distances. Holmes (2018) states that "New Zealanders do not comfortably tolerate explicit demonstrations of power, and people typically seek ways of reducing status differences and of emphasising equality with their colleagues" (pg. 36). New Zealand does have native cultures, such as the Maori, however much of the country is a melting pot. This has led to the nation to be very focused on equality and not viewing others above different groups.
Understanding this dimension of cultural value, as well as where New Zealand stands on the others is important from a talent management perspective because it is important to hire employees based on job-fit. If an employee needs a structure where there are very clearly defined lines and relationships for leadership, they may not be a good fit into an organization in New Zealand where everyone is treated the same. Additionally, it is important for an outside country to understand the cultural demands of the nation they are entering in order to attract and retain top talent. Employees want to know that the company they are employed by shares the same values as them and the patrons they serve.

decision making, where patients are encouraged to share their preferences and needs. The application of this model requires that healthcare professionals know
how to apply ethical theories such as patient autonomy, beneficence, nonmaleficence, justice, and fidelity when caring for patients. On a daily basis, healthcare
professionals face ethical dilemmas involving patients and colleagues. Understanding how to effectively apply the code of ethics in your field, and various other
codes of professional conduct, is an important skill required of all healthcare professionals. By applying ethical decision making, you positively impact the
delivery of safe, quality healthcare.
Under certain circumstances, healthcare professionals can be sued by patients for malpractice; it is more common for physicians to be sued when patients are
injured or die as a result of their medical care. Healthcare professionals need a clear understanding of the elements of medical malpractice (standard of care,
breach, causation, and damages) and how they are applied by a judge in a court of law. Healthcare professionals play a critical role due to the nature of their
relationship with both patients and physicians. To remain competent and grow in the field, healthcare professionals are expected to understand how their
professional responsibility includes a wide-ranging accountability to self, their profession, their patients, and the public.
Your final case study for this course will require you to analyze a court decision in which a physician was found liable for medical malpractice. You will focus on
facts pertaining to the medical standard of care, breach of care, and causation, and explain how they were applied to law. You will then use the facts of the case
to identify an ethics issue and determine an ethical theory that would help provide a safe, quality healthcare experience for the patient. Next, you will apply a
clinician–patient shared decision-making model to describe how the ethics issue could be resolved. You will also include a discussion about possible violations of
the code of ethics in your given field. Lastly, you will augment or vary the facts of the case to create a hypothetical scenario that changes the outcome so that
the physician is no longer liable for medical malpractice.
Final Project I is divided into two milestones, which will be submitted at various points throughout the course to scaffold learning and ensure quality final

Not every employee needs the access to company's important documents. The less people that have access the better. Also, another way that I have seen to prove work is when you have more than one persons authorization needed to access something. Documents, laptops, cell phones, and storage devices such as usb and flash drives should be secured by being locked up in an office, safe, or cabinet. There should be a limited of employees with access to the key and information. Paper files with business or consumer information must be shredded and discarded. It is better to shred the paperwork in house. A company I had previously worked for used to hire a company to shred their paperwork for them. Everyone would pile the sensitive information into a large locked bin, then the 'shredders' would pick up the bins and dump the paperwork into their trucks for shredding. On one occasion, the person picking up the bins accidentally dropped it and the papers spilled out and blew across the parking lot! Of course, strong passwords are necessary to secure sensitive data as well as encrypting information, establishing firewalls, anti virus programs, and hiring IT personnel.
3: I can say it is very important that all business owners have a method to protect all their records to keep all their paperwork in a safe place. Especially nowadays, i cant speak on how everyone else should run their business, but i can say as far as me trying to become a business owner i will have separate copies of everything that goes on in my business and have it secured in a safe place, or my own personal computer, and etc. In todays world sometimes you cant even trust your own staff so when it comes down to certain customers files i will have them secured so that i am the only one who can view it especially since i plan on opening up a nursing home for the elderly. Their information needs to be kept in a safe place so that not everyone can view their charts.

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in Education
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
