2. Research into the industry
currently I have my eyes set on a job as a producer in
the media industry. The first thing I did was basically
search up on google different production companies
with job openings currently just to see what production
companies were looking for employees, what those
jobs would entail, what qualifications I would need and
what experience would I need to get these jobs
3. Companies
I started out close to home as the sunderland part of British esports is
hiring. The job pays 22-23k a year
and is for a broadcast and video
Production executive. The listing
Does not provide any qualifications
Needed other than experience
Meaning to get this job I would
Need to spend I good amount of time in the industry first however I
could see this being a goal for myself as I am a fan of esports
4. I then saw an entry-level film maker
Job for black revolver films in
Northampton which is not as close
As the esports job obviously
however since this is entry level job
This could be a great stepping stone
For a career in filmmaking. The only qualifications is
experience, and passion where I need to show off some of
my creative works to see if I’m the right fit. This should be
easy as I do enjoy making films in my spare time and due to
the work placement I am doing I have the experience in the
industry I need
5. Skills and experience
For majority of the jobs, I have looked at you need
experience to work there not a lot of them are looking
for qualifications so it seems that it would be better to
start off low as a runner and slowly work my way up
gaining that experience for the higher level jobs I want
to become a producer or a director which are my two
main goals.
6. Typical
Typically the employment in production is proper
employment with a salary however a lot of the
more creative work that I have looked at is
freelance however I feel like I prefer employment
as that would be guaranteed money every month
rather than just hoping for the best with freelance
work
