The Need
 LA and Orange Counties combined have
approximately 32,000 children in the foster care
system, and over 14,000 transitional age youth
(ages 16-25)
 As they age out, they have very few adult
connections and lack a support system that can
connect them with opportunities. The typical
outcomes for former foster youth are deplorable:
 Less than 50% will graduate from high school and only
3% will graduate from college.
 50% will end up homeless or incarcerated and they are
much more likely to become pregnant before 21.
 90% have no source of income when they leave foster
care
 50% of former foster youth are unemployed at age 21

Dinner. The entire Doing Good Works crew was there and we sat down and had
breakfast as a family. I think that’s what we foster youth lack and struggle with is the
opportunity to be part of a family., a GOOD family.
