The Veldt Summary The story is about a family called the Hadleys who live in their Happylife Home, which does everything for them automatically. In the home's nursery, anything the family thinks of appears on the walls and ceiling. One day, the nursery stops responding to George and Lydia's thoughts and only displays Africa. Lydia becomes scared that the lions may become real. George and Lydia decide to call a psychologist to examine the nursery. When he arrives, the psychologist determines that the nursery has become focused on destructive thoughts.
