It’s the 21st Century, so the Tortoise
and the Hare work in IT now.
(The forest being cleared long ago to make way
for a gleaming new corporate office park.

The Tortoise works in Ops (of course).
Slow and Steady wins the race.

The Hare, chastened by his loss and
now working in Dev, has been learning
some new skills.
He’s into agile development and continuous
delivery, all to support a fast, iterative
production of new apps for the business.
“Fast and Consistent will always beat Slow and
Steady.”

Trouble was, both the Tortoise and the
Hare forgot about the Users.
They needed to be both fast and stable to
ensure a great user experience.
“Did you hear something?”
“Yeah, Kind of like a muffled sound?”
The Tortoise and the Hare soon realized they
were both about to lose the software race.

The Tortoise and the Hare discovered

The story describes a series of races between a tortoise and a hare to determine who is faster. In the first race, the hare quickly jumps ahead but stops to rest, allowing the tortoise to slowly pass him and win the race. The hare then challenges the tortoise to a rematch and wins by maintaining a fast pace the whole time. In a third race, the tortoise changes the route to include a river, knowing the hare cannot swim, and is able to win by swimming across while the hare waits on the bank. They eventually realize working as a team by using each other's strengths is most effective and jointly complete a fourth race by carrying each other across the river.

The fable of the tortoise and the hare is retold with additional lessons. In later races, the hare loses by sleeping and the tortoise wins by swimming across a river.
