God commanded Adam not to eat from the tree of knowledge but the devil deceived Eve and Adam, who ate the fruit. To solve the problem of death resulting from their sin, God sent his son Jesus to die in place of Adam and redeem humanity. Jesus was born of Mary and lived humbly on earth before being crucified by the Romans at the urging of the Jews. However, Jesus resurrected and later ascended to heaven. In addition to redemption, Jesus' life had the purposes of establishing a new religion centered on love and introducing humanity to the kingdom of heaven.
