Summary: The Agile software development methodology presents unique challenges for creating accessible products. Learn how to build a successful, sustainable, and scalable agile accessibility process.
Integrating accessibility in the organization's web development lifecycleAccessibilitéWeb
Web accessibility standards introduce inclusion concerns for people with disabilities that disrupt traditional patterns within organizations. These standards challenge development practices that are often considered to be tried and true. Introducing these guidelines to a web development team leads to changes in practices that may jeopardize a project's profitability. While accessibility principles are generally not difficult to implement, the amount of details to consider while doing so is significant and therefore, the risks of falling into certain traps abound. Based on a theoretical workflow model anyone can relate to, this training session will explain how Web accessibility, unlike other Web-related practices, is characterized by the fact that it influences every aspect of the web development lifecycle. This means that accessibility is not just another specialist the project manager needs to squeeze in the traditional process. Rather, web accessibility requires every member of the team to understand the requirements that may affect the work they do in order to ensure that proper decisions are being made at the best possible time in the project. The training session will conclude with a distribution of WCAG 2.0's success criteria, based on the responsibilities each individual holds within the development team. Sharing these requirements between team members will ensure the success of the accessibility goals in all phases of production.

Combining Performance Testing And Modelling For Easy Jet.Com V 1.0dannyq
easyJet is Europe’s fourth largest airline and has seen growth in passenger numbers of 37% per annum over the last 10 years. It operates 175 aircraft over a pan-European network of 20 bases and 400 routes.
Capacitas is a UK-based technology consulting and training company focussed on ICT performance, capacity and cost.
Over 98% of easyJet’s revenue is earned through its e-commerce platform; meaning software reliability, performance and scalability are critical to successful business operation. easyJet is a recognised innovator in a highly competitive market and this necessitates frequent software releases using an agile development methodology. All of this must be achieved within the context of a low-cost business model.
In many organisations performance testing and performance modelling have long been used to reduce the risk of poor performance impacting business services, but often in isolation. This presentation describes how performance testing and modelling can be used in tandem to compensate for the weaknesses of each other, within the context of an agile development process. The presentation demonstrates how Capacitas and easyJet have integrated performance testing and modelling processes to provide cost-effective risk mitigation for the easyJet.com service.

It's not surprising that an effective change management approach is an important predictor of long-term PPM & PMO success. Yet too many organizations shortchange the process, underestimate cultural resistance and settle for PPM software that is unable to support their business goals.
View this excerpt of a live webinar by Jay Hoskins, PowerSteering Business PPM Consultant, and David Boghossian, Founder of PowerSteering Software, as they walk through how to achieve sustained change, ensure executive support and avoid internal politics that can impede success.
David and Jay address these issues head on and share practical solutions that they've employed at dozens of global organizations including:
-Achieving change management goals more rapidly
-Gaining support from executive management, functional and project teams
-Overcoming adoption challenges with a phased implementation plan
-Choosing software that supports business users and adapts to changing needs

Are Your Applications Delivering What Your End-Users Expect?Compuware APM
The end user experience is a critical pillar of application performance management. It requires a global view that tracks the path of an application from data center through the Internet, and all the way to "the last mile" of delivery to the end user's computer or device.
Although a well-established discipline, traditional application performance management approaches provide highly silo'ed views of application delivery to the end user. A full picture requires breadth and depth, and a view of the full business impact.

Profitability: SaaS Versus On Premise SolutionsAspire Systems
SaaS is being increasingly adopted and is even considered a savior model in this economy due to the zero upfront CAPEX for buyers. Still the question remains if SaaS is a profitable model for solution providers? Regardless of the longer sales cycles, is the on-premise solution providing faster break-even?
This webinar moderated by Aspire Systems, where Amy Wohl of Wohl Associates and Alex Ginger, Director of Active Operations Management International, a SaaS provider discussed the two business models, in light of the current economic situation.
Some of key topics discussed were:
- Cost factors – developmental, operational and marketing costs
- Revenue factors – sales cycle, pricing models, etc.
- Benefits/drawbacks of both the business models
- Will a hybrid pricing/delivery model provide better benefits?
Ken Whitaker shares pragmatic techniques to help project managers and software development leaders put into practice innovative scheduling techniques, make consistent customer-centric decisions, reduce project risk, quickly negotiate with product owners the most important project scope, and transition teams to become more agile. Ken shares revealing statistical data on how waterfall is simply not suited for modern-day adaptive software development projects. With fellow participants, you’ll spend time performing a “Scrum walkabout” to get the idea of just how an agile project really works. These best practices are presented to motivate your team to deliver projects on time, every time. Although this tutorial doesn’t incorporate intensive role-play, we’ll have lively interaction that will incorporate lessons learned from actual case studies and attendees’ project experiences. Take away powerful, yet simple, ways to bridge the gap between PMI’s PMBOK® Guide and agile.

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.
