Low power architecture of logic gates using adiabatic techniquesnooriasukmaningtyas
The growing significance of portable systems to limit power consumption in ultra-large-scale-integration chips of very high density, has recently led to rapid and inventive progresses in low-power design. The most effective technique is adiabatic logic circuit design in energy-efficient hardware. This paper presents two adiabatic approaches for the design of low power circuits, modified positive feedback adiabatic logic (modified PFAL) and the other is direct current diode based positive feedback adiabatic logic (DC-DB PFAL). Logic gates are the preliminary components in any digital circuit design. By improving the performance of basic gates, one can improvise the whole system performance. In this paper proposed circuit design of the low power architecture of OR/NOR, AND/NAND, and XOR/XNOR gates are presented using the said approaches and their results are analyzed for powerdissipation, delay, power-delay-product and rise time and compared with the other adiabatic techniques along with the conventional complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) designs reported in the literature. It has been found that the designs with DC-DB PFAL technique outperform with the percentage improvement of 65% for NOR gate and 7% for NAND gate and 34% for XNOR gate over the modified PFAL techniques at 10 MHz respectively.

Adaptive synchronous sliding control for a robot manipulator based on neural ...IJECEIAES
Robot manipulators have become important equipment in production lines, medical fields, and transportation. Improving the quality of trajectory tracking for
robot hands is always an attractive topic in the research community. This is a
challenging problem because robot manipulators are complex nonlinear systems
and are often subject to fluctuations in loads and external disturbances. This
article proposes an adaptive synchronous sliding control scheme to improve trajectory tracking performance for a robot manipulator. The proposed controller
ensures that the positions of the joints track the desired trajectory, synchronize
the errors, and significantly reduces chattering. First, the synchronous tracking
errors and synchronous sliding surfaces are presented. Second, the synchronous
tracking error dynamics are determined. Third, a robust adaptive control law is
designed, the unknown components of the model are estimated online by the neural network, and the parameters of the switching elements are selected by fuzzy
logic. The built algorithm ensures that the tracking and approximation errors
are ultimately uniformly bounded (UUB). Finally, the effectiveness of the constructed algorithm is demonstrated through simulation and experimental results.
Simulation and experimental results show that the proposed controller is effective with small synchronous tracking errors, and the chattering phenomenon is
significantly reduced.

The Siege of Leningrad, also known as the Leningrad
Blockade was a prolonged military blockade undertaken by
the Axis powers and lasted for a mammoth 872 days.
The siege caused severe of shortage of food and other

that residents had started resorting to cannibalism and local
units had to be formed to keep a check on cannibalism.
These residents included staff at the Leningrad Physiological
Institute, who killed and consumed some animals to prolong

Studies show that sitting tall gives you a personal boost and earns you the respect of others –
taller people make more money, are rated higher in work performance, and are viewed as
more effective leaders.
Timothy Judge, Ph.D., a University of Florida management professor who studies height
advantages said in a statement in 2003. “Although that was thousands of years ago,
evolutionary psychologists would argue that some of those old patterns still operate in our
perceptions today.”
Studies demonstrate that when a person sits with their back straight and their chest out, they
report feeling more confident. Slouching, meanwhile, tends to make people doubt themselves.

One explanation for the adverse reaction to X is that the sound produced by X
is similar to the warning call of a primate, back in prehistoric times. However, a
study using monkeys found that they react similarly to both high-pitched
sounds similar X, and to amplitude-matched white noise.
A 2011 study by musicologists Michael Oehler and Christoph Reuter led its
authors to hypothesize that the unpleasantness of the sound is caused by
acoustic resonance due to the shape of the human ear canal which amplifies
certain frequencies.
A study published in the journal Perception and Psychophysics in 1986
investigating the sounds produced by X won a 2006 Ig Nobel Prize, awarded
by the Society for Improbable Research.

Which song?
Warner Music’s publishing wing Warner/Chappell has settled a lawsuit
challenging its hold on this song for $14 million, paving the way for the song
to finally enter the public domain. The settlement comes after United States
District Judge George H. King ruled in September that Warner/Chappell’s
copyright on the song was invalid. The rights to the song had previously
changed hands frequently before Warner/Chappell scooped it up in 1988 and
began aggressively charging royalties for its use in TV shows and movies. King,
however, decided that their copyright was not valid because the original 1935
copyright of version applied only to a specific piano arrangement. However,
Warner/Chappell had expected to hold on to the rights to the song until 2030,
during which time it was estimated the song would bring in between $14
million and $16.5 million. By settling, the publishing giant was also able to
avoid a trial to determine whether it should be punished for collecting fees on
the song for over 25 years. It’s estimated Warner/Chappell has collected more
than $50 million in licensing fees.

This was a style adopted by the cartoonist while doing animations.
Characters like Spongebob Squarepants, Looney Tunes, Mickey Mouse,
Flintstones had been some of the succesful application of this styles. It was
devised as a method of saving money, in the era of animation, having one
less digit in every cell can potentially reduce time as well as tons of money.
It has other reasons as well, such that to make it more intriguing and
goodlooking. As Walt Disney said, if Mickey hadn’t gone through that
style, he might have looked like “ bunch of bananas”. However, Japanese
animation industry, chose not to follow this rule, sticking to some
superstition of the Yakuza tradition.

In 1965 Paul C. Fisher and his company, the Fisher Pen Company patented a pen that
could write upside-down, in frigid or roasting conditions (down to minus 50 degrees
Fahrenheit or up to 400 degrees F), and even underwater or in other liquids. If too hot,
though, the ink turned green instead of its normal blue.
Unlike most ballpoint pens, Fisher's pen does not rely on gravity to get the ink flowing. The
cartridge is instead pressurized with nitrogen at 35 pounds per square inch. This pressure
pushes the ink toward the tungsten carbide ball at the pen's tip.
The ink, too, differs from that of other pens. Fisher used ink that stays a gel like solid until
the movement of the ballpoint turns it into a fluid. The pressurized nitrogen also prevents
air from mixing with the ink so it cannot evaporate or oxidize.
These pens are available on the market for ~50$.

However, close inspection of the Lady’s features reveals non-Caucasian
facial features. This is because Frederic Bartholdi, the sculptor, based the

119. 6. Which Practice?
In Hinduism, Alakshmi (Devanāgari: अलक्ष्मी; from the roots अ (a): "not"
and लक्ष्मी (Lakshmi): "goddess of fortune") means "not Lakshmi". She is
described as being “cow-repelling, antelope-footed,and bull-
toothed."[2] Or she “has dry shriveled up body, sunken cheeks, thick lips,
and beady eyes and that she rides a donkey.“
Alakshmi is the sister of Goddess Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of fortune
and prosperity. But Alakshmi brings poverty and misery. The Gods send
Alakshmi to go dwell amongst pernicious persons, to give them poverty
and grief. She as the asuri of inauspiciousness and grief is the opposite of
Lakshmi the goddess of auspiciousness and joy. Alakshmi is also known as
Kalahapriya and Daridara, and the elder sisterly opposite of Lakshmi.
Alakshmi likes sour, pungent and hot things and thus a common practice
is prevalent in our country. What common practice?

122. 7. Where can you see the mitre?
The mitre is a tall folding cap, consisting of two similar parts (the front and
back) rising to a peak and sewn together at the sides. Two
short lappets always hang down from the back.
Three types of mitres are worn for different occasions:
The simplex ('simple', referring to the materials used) is made of
undecorated white linen or silk and its white lappets traditionally end in
red fringes.
The auriphrygiata is of plain gold cloth or white silk with gold, silver or
coloured embroidered bands
The pretiosa ('precious') is decorated with precious stones and gold.
The mitre is worn by people belonging to a certain proffesion. But you can
also see the mitre in a more common place.
