The new Internet technologies have infiltrated the academic environment, both at individual and at institutional level. Therefore, more and more teachers have started educational blogs, librarians are active on Twitter, other educational actors curate web content, students post on Instagram or Flickr, and university departments have Facebook pages and/or YouTube accounts etc.
Today, the use of web technology has become “a legitimate activity in many areas of higher education” (Waycott, 2010) and a considerable shift to digital academic research has gradually occurred. Teachers are encouraging students to take up digital tools for research and writing, thus revealing new ways of using information and communication technologies for academic purposes and not just for socializing.
The main objective of this paper is to investigate the effects of integrating diverse digital and Web 2.0 tools and resources in research and in the construction of academic texts. We aim to stress the increasing influence of digital and online tools in academic research and writing.
Teachers, specialists, and students alike are affected by this process. In order to show how, we explore the following issues: What is Research 2.0? Which digital/online tools have we used to assist our students? What are the challenges for academic research using digital / web 2.0 tools? And how do digital tools shape academic research?
e-twinning
E-Twinning is an initiative of the European Commission that provides infrastructure for European schools to collaborate using information communication technologies. It allows teachers to form partnerships to develop collaborative projects in any subject area. Over 50,000 teachers and 4,000 projects were registered by 2008. E-Twinning encourages the development of ICT skills and cultural exchange between schools. It also provides professional development opportunities for over 20,000 teachers annually through both online and in-person training.

Through the ubiquitous adoption of the internet there has been an exponential growth of information shared. The use of digital technologies such as social networking tools and smart devices have enabled individuals to connect, communicate, curate, collaborate and create. An array of user-generated multimedia artefacts are now shared that can be discussed, debated and critiqued. As educators it is through knowledge sharing and socially mediated interactions that we can make a difference. However it is not simply the giving or receiving of information, but about the new co-learning opportunities we can make (Rheingold); the ability to develop new capacities for action and change (Grey); and how we create knowledge and leverage it (Wenger). My keynote presentation will consider the concept of shareology and connectedness through social media and the value of working out loud.

Through the ubiquitous adoption of the internet there has been an exponential growth of information shared. The use of digital technologies such as social networking tools and smart devices have enabled individuals to connect, communicate, curate, collaborate and create. An array of user-generated multimedia artefacts are now shared that can be discussed, debated and critiqued. As educators it is through knowledge sharing and socially mediated interactions that we can make a difference. However it is not simply the giving or receiving of information, but about the new co-learning opportunities we can make (Rheingold); the ability to develop new capacities for action and change (Grey); and how we create knowledge and leverage it (Wenger). My keynote presentation will consider the concept of shareology and connectedness through social media and the value of working out loud.

Using the 5C Framework (Nerantzi and Beckingham 2014, 2015) as a lens, we will explore how social media can be used to connect, communicate, curate, collaborate and create, and in doing so learn how to:
develop a digital professional persona to share scholarly achievements
cultivate valued personal learning networks and co-learning communities
benefit from 'working (and learning) out loud'
find new approaches and practical examples of using social media
as co-learners share examples of effective practice and consider how these might be applied in your own contexts

Web 2.0 allows users to participate in media through activities like archiving, annotating, and sharing content. This has led to an emergence of informal social networks for research where learning is peer-based and occurs through shared experiences. Within communities organized by interests, people can engage in social constructivism and learn from each other's experiences. Social media now serves as a platform for various research activities like gathering data, documenting information, and collectively developing knowledge through tools like wikis. Networks act as hybrid social environments that combine personal, professional, and economic activities.

What Is Social Media?
Social media refers to internet and mobile-based tools that allow people to share information, photos, videos, and audio. This sharing and interaction between people helps form shared meanings and perspectives within communities. There are five key characteristics of social media: participation, openness, conversation, community, and connectedness. Social media conversations occur on sites like Facebook, blogs, podcasts and wikis and can take place between customers, employees, investors, and others. These conversations are not organized or controlled and can provide insight into markets by listening to different perspectives.

It will take the perspective of the educator who has needs for storage of ideas and tools, presentation of educational artefacts, collaboration and access to other educators online. Using freely available Web 2.0 tools every educator can develop a PLE to complement their educational objectives. This presentation is produced using established online resources including blogging, wiki development, social networking tools and podcasting.

This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
