The Simpson Trial Process
The Trial Process
The trial process began a few months later, on January 24, 1995. The prosecution consisted of Marcia Clark and Christopher Darden (Linder, 2000).
While, the defense team, called the "dream team," included Robert Shapiro, F. Lee Bailey, Johnnie Cochran, Alan Dershowitz, and Barry Scheck. The
judge was Lance Ito and the jury consisted of 9 African–Americans, 1 Hispanic, and 2 Caucasians (Linder, 2000). Ten of them being women and only
2 were men.
The prosecution presented the jury with much evidence and witnesses to try to prove that Simpson was guilty. This included, witnesses from Nicole's
family and friends along with witnesses that could help plan a timeline of events, such as the limo driver, Allan Park, and a house guest named Kato
Kaelin. Allan Park went to Simpson's house to pick him up and take him to the airport, but he received no answer when he rang the doorbell (Linder,
2000). Park then testified that he saw someone walk into the house and that a few minutes later ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These strategies included, convincing the jury that O.J. was physically unable to commit the crime and suggesting that Simpson was framed by
corrupt police officers, such as Mark Fuhrman (Linder, 2000). The defense's witnesses included O.J.'s doctor, who claimed that O.J. was incapable of
committing the crime because he had arthritis. However, there was a video, presented by the prosecution, which showed Simpson performing
physically demanding exercises a short while before the murders. Furthermore, the defense proved that Mark Fuhrman was indeed a racist who had
used the n word many times. This led to the assumption that Fuhrman had planted evidence to frame Simpson of the murders (Linder, 2000). The
defense said that Fuhrman took a glove from the crime scene, put Nicole's blood on it, and then placed it outside of Kato's bedroom to try to frame
O.J. for the

Holmes Sheppard Case
Why does a trial get a retrial when the first trial served justice? Dr. Samuel Holmes Sheppard was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1923. He studied at
Hanover College and Western Reserve University. Sheppard pursued careers in medicine. He got married in 1945 to his high school girlfriend,
Marilyn. After a few years of their marriage, they returned back to Cleveland, Ohio. Until July 4, 1954, they lived a charmed life in a wealthy
neighbourhood. Then suddenly on July 4, 1954, Marilyn was found dead in their bedroom. This case is known as one of the longest running and most
sensationalized court cases in the United States history because of the elements of doubt within the case. Dr. Sheppard was convicted of the murder. In

Firstly, prosecution didn't realize about phone calling his friend when Sheppard can check the pulse by himself. Even though he is a doctor, why
would he call his friend to check whether she died or not? It doesn't matter what kind of doctor you are, all the doctors were trained the basic things
such as checking pulse. For me, I learned it when I was in 8th grade, so Sheppard should know it. This shows that he knew she died, but he called his
friend, so in case if gets in trouble, his friend's testimony can save him. Secondly, neither the defense nor the prosecution brought up about his make up
stories. In the article by Larkin, B, from "Speaking up for Marilyn in the 60–year–old Sam Sheppard murder case" stated that when Sheppard was
making alibis to walk away when he got arrested. However, in the second trial, no one brought it up. When Sheppard was arrested he said that there
was "blushy–haired' killed her. However, there wasn't any damaged in the house. Unfortunately, no one brought this up. Thirdly, the defense counsel
didn't let Sheppard to testify because Sheppard's "Cool, pedantic style did not make a good impressions with the 1954 trial. ( Linder, Law2)" If the
defense counsel allowed it then the truth would have been out. Fourthly, the bloodstain on his pants, which shows that he when he tried

The Trial Of The Century
In 1985, "The Trial of the Century" involving the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ron Lyle Goldman. O.J. Simpson was accused of
being the murderer in these two cases. From January to October, the trial went on and on, and more people thought that he was guilty and that he
actually murdered his ex wife and friend, Nicole and Ron. Reporters and lawyers were everywhere. After ten long months of the trial O.J. Simpson was
pronounced "not guilty" verdict. Some reporters, family members of Nicole, and at home watchers thought he was only pronounced "not guilty"
because the grand jury was all "overwhelmingly" black. And O.J. Simpson was African American as well.
The trial lasted 135 days. 135 days of feeling Guilt v.s. Innocence. 135 days of wondering what will happen next and when it will happen. Those 135
days, my grandmother was always waiting for the verdict. O.J. Simpson, and millions of people were waiting to hear that verdict but my grandmother
was crazy about this trial.
My grandmother, Geneva Reyes, flew down to California in October to hear the verdict and see for herself the truth of everything. My grandmother
was not in the courthouse during the trials or interrogations but the way she truly knew in heart that O.J. Simpson was not guilty and they had the
wrong guy for the murders. It was nothing like she had ever seen. The lawyers, the news outside of the courthouse, and the reporters were everywhere.
People thought she was crazy to be obsessed

The Effects Of Hepatitis C Virus On Health Care And...
Medical insurers exist in the uncomfortable realm of providing support for health care and ensuring healthy profit margins. The payor system has
evolved to dictate the care its members receive through, at worst, a rationing of services. This has frequently been the case when new medication and
experimental treatments become available. The most recent instance is the case of newly released drugs with astounding success rates for the cure of
Hepatitis C Virus. The rulings of past civil cases requiring insurers to cover medical treatment despite contract clauses has set the stage for Hepatitis C
Virus curative treatment.

Initial curative treatment in the early 1990's used interferon and the antiviral ribavirin with a cure rate of 50% (Watson, n.d., p. 1). 2011 saw the
invention of two antiviral medications, telaprivir and boceprevir, that increased cure rates to 70%. In 2013 newer drugs, simeprevir and sofosbuvir,
were introduced with the later creating 90% cure rates in patients (Watson, n.d., p.gs. 1–2). Simeprevir (Sovaldi) was created for administration once
per day over a minimum of a year (Gilead, 2014). Eradication of the disease in patients is effective in patients co–infected with HIV with low rates of
side effects (Sulkowski, et al., 2014), highlighting its efficacy in complex patient populations. The cost of such treatment is $1,000 per day with an
average cost for curative course exceeding $94,000 (Venteicher, 2014). The medication is FDA approved and prescribed readily, but patients are not
receiving access to the medication through their insurers. Current Issues of Access
Patients with HCV treatment including Sovaldi are experiencing life changing medical prognosis in a disease that had low cure rates. Physicians are
prescribing the medication appropriately to patients but there exists a disconnect between the number of patients accessing the drug and the number it
is medically indicated for (Venteicher, 2014). Insurers and Managed Care Organizations (MCO's) administering Medicaid contracts for multiple states

The Sixties: A Decade of Rebellion Essay
"Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans" (Kennedy
916). With these words, John F. Kennedy in his inaugural address in 1961 described the 1960's decade. This era in American history encapsulated a
belief in the power of young people to change the world, a desire to help others globally and accept their differences, and a war that would eventually
destroy all that America stood for. It was a time for new ideas in all aspects of life. This shift in thinking is apparent when looking at the happenings in
society, the younger generation, and the media. The sixties were the beginning of many great revolutions in society.
The sixties were a time of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The third president during the sixties was Richard Nixon, a republican who paid much attention to foreign affairs. He withdrew the United States from
the Vietnam War and reestablished diplomatic ties with China (Horton 165). He was involved in the Watergate scandal and was also responsible for a
great deal of illegal wiretapping. Richard Nixon was eventually impeached in 1974 for abusing his powers (Carter–Cooper). These events directly
affected people's lives and impacted the country's society. People's lives were both directly and indirectly affected by the politics of the sixties.
Society reacted to political events in different ways depending on what social class they belonged to. The tone of the decade was one of rebellion. One
significant influence was the feminist movement and women's rights. The Feminine Mystique by Betty Friedan inspired many women and caused new
women's groups to be created. Women all across the country began to question the roles they had and fight for equal rights (Horton 32–41). Birth
control was legalized in the United States, and abortion was a huge topic of controversy (Holland 126). Women wanted to be able to procure abortions
without the risk of complications, and many got abortions even though they were illegal and in most cases, unsafe (Singleton 2). Women also wanted
to get paid the same wages for doing the same work as men, which eventually happened in 1963 with the passing of the Equal Pay Act (Horton 41).

I think this was the time when Rock–n–Roll was truly reborn as Rock music. "The changing of Rock and Roll terminology is illustrative. "Rock and
Roll" became simply "Rock", connoting its new heaviness (seriousness)" (Cary, pg. 31) The oncoming decade allowed for new developments within
rock music and as a result, soared in popularity. The British invasion, a phrase coined by Walter Cronkite while reporting the arrival ofthe Beatles in the
USA, and American folk singers were the causes of the rapid changes in Rock music. It was British bands that altered how Rock–n–Roll was played,
and at the same time American folk singers were in the process of changing how its audience, particularly the youth, perceived it.
The United States has always met with great success in exporting their own popular music to Europe. However, the impact that the Beatles had on our
country started the beginning of what Star and Waterman call an "aggressively reciprocal process" (Star and Waterman, pg. 255). Which is true
because the Beatles' debut on the Ed Sullivan Show was a huge success 73 million Americans watched their first appearance on the show. After wards,
British invasion groups took America by the storm. "The Beatles' arrival in America in 1964 reversed this trend. Their electric, charismatic
performances tapped a public nerve and energized the pop music scene. "(Cary, Pg. 31) Many of America's own pop groups were wiped off of

What causes Autism? An overview of biological and environmental factors associated withAutism (ASD)
Autism, otherwise known as autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) has developed significantly over the past few years. There has been much research
carried out since its discovery over sixty years ago (Wolff, Narayan & Moyes, 1988), it is now described as a complex syndrome affecting the central
nervous system and a developmental disorder that stems from a neurological disorder affecting normal brain function (Volkmar, 2007). This essay will
examine both the biological and environmental factors believed to cause ASD, while considering some of the major theories surrounding the condition.
ASD is identified by three distinguishing primary impairments in language, social skills and behavioural flexibility, which are referred to as the Triad
of Impairments (Happe' & Ronald, 2009). Additionally, the primary characteristics that define ASD are often accompanied by various other features
such as; learning disabilities, self–injury, aggression, repetition, ritualistic eating, drinking or sleeping behaviours and a compelling need for routine
(Happe' & Ronald, 2009). Diagnosis is often carried out using the Autism Spectrum Quotient or AQ (Baron–Cohen, 2006) and it consists of a fifty item

A Summary of the O.J. Simpson Trial
O.J. Simpson stated, "I think I've been a great citizen" (Simpson). The O.J. Simpson trial was one of the most followed cases in history (Blohm

January 24, 1995 and ended on October 2, 1995 (Blohm 59). Going into the trial, O.J.'s fate had already been sealed due to the fact that nobody
wanted to prosecute a football legend and an actor (Piombini). In the fictional play, Twelve Angry Men by Reginald Rose, twelve slightly frustrated
men are chosen to be on a jury for a murder trial. The men discussed the fate of a boy who murdered his father; many believed that the boy was guilty

With evidence stacked against him, the trial of O.J. Simpson began with O.J. seemly in pinch and scrambling to wiggle free of the death penalty.
Evidence started to grow and become stronger against O.J. during the night of the murders. On the night of June 12, 1994 at 875 South Bundy
Drive police found Nicole Simpson's body collapsed on the steps just inside the security gate with her current boyfriend, Ron Goldman off to the
side of the sidewalk (Turque). Both throats were slashed with signs of serious savage struggle (Turque). Blood was found on the trail outside and
in O.J.'s house, white Ford Bronco, and in a matching pair of gloves (Jones). At the scenes of both murders, police found a dark brown leather,
cashmere lined, extra large glove (Jones). On the gloves, traces of Nicole and Ron's blood were found (Jones). "If the glove doesn't fit," Johnnie
Cochran, a member of the prosecution stated, "you must acquit"(Cochran). Along with the gloves, a pair of size 12 Bruno Magli shoes made bloody
footprints that lead from the back of Nicole's condominium (Jones). Despite this, O.J. denied ever owning a pair(Jones).. O.J. had ended up with cuts
on his left hand that were most likely caused by the struggle between Ron Goldman and O.J. (Gleick, Lafferty). Regardless of the fact that the
evidence was against O.J. Simpson, he still claimed to be hitting golf balls off in his backyard during the time of the murders

What comes to mind when you hear forensic psychology? You may think of famous television shows like Criminal Minds, NCIS, CSI and other

They range from being called clinical psychologists, school psychologists, neurologists, or counselors.. Perhaps one of the best known duties of a
criminal or forensic psychologist is known as criminal profiling. The practice started during the 1940s during World War II. Today, organizations such
as the FBI utilize offender profiling to help apprehend violent criminals. They are used primarily for helping understand human behavior specifically in
the criminal justice field but also exist in other branches of psychology.
Forensic psychology is really important to the criminal justice field and it's extremely efficient when it comes to hunting serial murderers because
forensic psychologists are used to track their patterns and eventually lead to an arrest. Rehabilitation is also something that they are involved in
doing. Therapy with criminals, and working with other federal agencies to help track down criminals. I chose this topic because i take a special

A Good Man Is Hard To Find "Adversity defines the essence of who we are and who we desire to be!" This can be best realized in the rural southern

With mild aggravation, Bailey drives down a winding and twisting road remotely traveled with scenic attributes. As the trip continues, Bailey considers
and communicates to his mother that he will turn around if the house does not appear soon. Sudden memory confirms that the house was in Tennessee
and the subsequent movement–based on slight embarrassment startles the cat that she had concealed before the trip began. While grandma simply
tries to hold on to something that peaks her interest in this trip, eagerness and revelation further stresses her son and startles the stowaway cat that
should not have made the trip anyway. The cat proves to be the mechanism that turns an already hassle filled trip into a fate filled voyage. This starts

wife and baby getting thrown from the car. Once the dust settles, everyone is found to be in good order outside of the broken shoulder suffered by the

The Assassination Of President John F. Kennedy
"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." JFK was a man defined by his morality, however his
appeasing methods were perceived by some as a weakness, ultimately preluding his inescapable death. It is to a highly significant extent that the CIA
was responsible for the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, as contrasting ideologies, acting as motive, integrated with extensive influence and
power, enabled the CIA to eliminate JFK, to infiltrate their own desired means of governing. as an impediment of desired governing. Uncertainty of
motives, corresponding with former connections to the CIA, generated hesitation for the solitary conviction of Lee Harvey Oswald. Complications
concerning domestic and international incidents instigated tensions between the CIA and President Kennedy, later acting as an apparent motive cause
for his assassination. Discrepancies regarding eye–witness statements, forensic and photographic evidence emerged with the final report issued by the
Warren Commission; this resulted in concern and uncertainty as to the quality of investigation into the President 's death, highlighting the occurrence of
foul play by the CIA.
The CIA had a very significant role in the assassination of JFK, as, despite undisputed evidence indicating Lee Harvey Oswald's involvement, it is
evident he was exploited in a larger, more elaborate scheme. Lee Harvey Oswald was undeniably a patsy for the CIA, acting as a significant

The Zodiac Killer
Lucas Kelleher/ Street Law 10/3/08 The Zodiac Killer The Zodiac Killer is a serial killer who operated in Northern California in the late 1960s.
His identity to this day still remains unknown. The Zodiac coined his name in a series of taunting letters he sent to the press. His letters included
four cryptograms (or ciphers), three of which have yet to be solved. The Zodiac murdered five known victims in Benicia, Vallejo, Lake Berryessa,
and San Francisco between December 1968 and October 1969. Four men and three women between the ages of 16 and 29 were targeted. Others have
also been suspected to be Zodiac victims, but they have been ruled inconclusive. The lack of consensus about the number of victims, the inability of law

At 2 a.m. on October 22, 1969, someone claiming to be the Zodiac called Oakland PD demanding that one of two prominent lawyers, F. Lee Bailey
or Melvin Belli, appear on Jim Dunbar's television talk show in the morning. Bailey was not available, but Belli appeared on the show. Dunbar
appealed to the viewers to keep the lines open, and eventually, someone claiming to be the Zodiac called several times and said his name was Sam.
Belli agreed to meet with him in Daly City, but the suspect never showed up. Police officers who had heard the Zodiac, listened to "Sam's" voice
and agreed that he was not the Zodiac. Subsequent calls the suspect made to Belli were traced to the Napa State Hospital, where it was learned that
"Sam" was a mental patient. On November 8, 1969, the Zodiac mailed a card with another cryptogram consisting of 340 characters. On November 9,
1969, he mailed a seven–page letter in which he claimed that two policemen stopped and actually spoke with him three minutes after he shot Stine.
Excerpts from the letter were published in the Chronicle on November 12, including the Zodiac's claim; that same day, Don Fouke wrote a memo
explaining what had happened that night. The 340 character cipher has never been decoded. Many possible "solutions" have been suggested, but

Chuck Berry were some of the many artists in Rock–n–Roll who will always live on in their music. Many teenagers were also to identify it due to its
rebellious nature their disapproval of the cold war. Towards the end of the 1950s, Rock–n–Roll was ending on a particularly bad note, with a brief

However, the 1960s was considered at a stand still when it came to popular music. In 1964, when the Beatles arrived to America, everything changed. I
think this was the time when Rock–n–Roll was truly reborn as Rock music. "The changing of Rock and Roll terminology is illustative. "Rock and
Roll" became simply "Rock", connoting its new heaviness (seriousness)" (Cary, pg 31) The oncoming decade allowed for new developments within
rock music and as a result, soared in popularity. The British invasion, a phrase coined by Walter Cronkite while reporting the arrival of the Beatles in
the USA,and American folk singers were the causes of the rapid changes in Rock music. It was British bands that altered how Rock–n–Roll was
played, and at the the same time American folk singers were in the process of changing how its audience, particularly the youth, perceived it.
The United states has always met with great success in exporting their own popular music to Europe. However, the impact that the Beatles had on our
country started the beginning of what Star and Waterman call an "aggressively reciprocal process" (Star and Waterman, pg 255). Which is true
because the Beatles's debut on the Ed Sullivan Show was a huge success 73 million Americans watched their first appearance on the show. After wards,
British invasion groups took America by the storm. "The Beatles' arrival in America in 1964

Essay on Formation of the Chinese Civilization
Lee Bailey, Sr.
His 104
Formation of Chinese Civilization
The Chinese civilization was first started during the Xia (2200 BCE–1750 BCE).
This it during this era that Chinese people would start to improve upon previous
Civilizations. In this essay will see how China progressed throughout history to what it has become based on the their ability to learn from other
civilizations and improve upon their own.
Agriculture was the bases for all civilizations. They learned ways to cultivate the land and grow crops for the survival of their people. China's most
important water source for agriculture was the Yellow river. This river was very... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Along with social stature came family and Patriarchy. Generally the man of the family would be the head of household. He would also be the one to
perform ceremonies to honor their past ancestors. This customary honoring of the ancestor is known as Veneration. The family will have gatherings to
honor past relatives and the father would be the lead patriarch. Even though males were the dominate role in the family, women would take over the
household duties.
Confucisiam had a large impact on China. Confucius lived 551–479 BCE. He was a great contributor to the Chinese people. He was considered an
educator and a political advisor (Bentley and Zeigler p150). He never wrote down his ideas or fundamentals, but his pupils did in the Book of Analects.
Confucius thought was fundamentally and morally practical. He believed in Junzi, "superior individuals" (Bentley and Ziegler p151).
Since China didn't have religion they took to Confucian values. Ren, kindness and
Benevolence. Li, a sense of propriety. Xiao, Filial piety. Junzi would bring order to China.
Daoism was sort of a critic to Confucius. Daoist believe in the way of nature and

Patty Hearst Case Study
The Radical Case of Patty Hearst Patricia Hearst was abducted from her apartment in Berkley, California, when she was just 19 years old (Orth). Her
abductors were a radical terrorist group, and their ultimate goal was to take somebody of status and hold them hostage as leverage for what they
wanted. Patty was the daughter of William Randolph Hearst and Catherine Campbell, both of whom were wealthy and had a large image in the
newspaper industry (Patty Hearst Outlaws). Patty would be held for nearly two months in captivity in rigorous conditions while the group decided
what they would be attempting to take her parents for. It was not long before the group was committing crimes and Patricia was alongside them, which

Domestic Violence Between Nicole And Simpson
The trial began on January 24, 1995. Los Angeles County prosecutor Christopher Darden argued that Simpson killed his ex–wife in a jealous rage.
They played a 9–1–1 call that Nicole had made on January 1, 1989. During this call she expressed fear that Simpson would physically harm her and he
could be heard yelling at her in the background. The prosecution focused on establishing the long history of domestic violence between Nicole and
Simpson, presenting evidence that Simpson had physically abused Nicole. Deaths steaming from domestic violence are the result of accumulated acts
of violence that escalate rather than once incident of situational rage. It is commonly associated with long–term abuse. Nicole reportedly told friends
and family that she was afraid of Simpson and that he was stalking her in the months before her death. The couple were in a period of marital
estrangement. They had a history of breaking up and getting back together but according to friends and family Nicole was tired of the abuse and was
not going to date Simpson anymore. Simpson also had a history of domestic violence noted by prior police involvement at the Simpson home when
the couple was married. Simpson displayed signs that the was extremely jealous reportedly telling Nicole he would kill her if she was with another
man. The couple showed many signs of escalating violence that would eventually lead to the death of the victim. Prosecutor Marcia Clark, a Deputy

The PATCO strike began on August 3, 1981 with over 13,000 people walking out. This "illegal" act was met with a quick response from President
Ronald Reagan (Sconberger p 1). Reagan told the strikers, "Either return to work within 48 hours or be fired from government service for breaking
the 'oath of office' not to strike (Sconberger, special report, p. 12). While roughly 1,200 workers returned to work, another 12,000 remained on strike

The PATCO continued the problems which unions were having and probably contributed to the continued weakness of the union movement in the
United States. (Reynolds p 421).<p>
Airline History: Prior to PATCO<p>
The nations air traffic controllers became organized in 1968. Like many Americans, they wanted 8 hour days, better pay, and 5 day weeks.
However, unlike many unions in America, PATCO's industry was highly regulated and subject to frequent political scrutiny. In 1958, the Federal
Aviation Agency (FAA) was created in order to improve safety in the rapidly growing airline industry. This had become a growing concern as the
airline industry took off. However, in 1963, there was a major collision in midair, which could have been prevented by air traffic controllers. Since
1961, no new air traffic controllers had been hired, even though the number of flights had been increasing rapidly. Also, controllers were being
forced (under the threat of being fired) to work six days a week for upwards of 10 hours per day. Also, a lot of equipment was "archaic" and unable
to handle this rapid increase in flights. Some of the equipment was dated to World War II and was literally falling apart. The FAA was under a lot of
pressure to make the airways safe. This pressure was in turn placed onto the controllers. Needless to say, all of these conditions did not make
controllers happy and

Did Oj Simpson Really Do It?
Did OJ Simpson really do it? This question has a lot of controversy. Before OJ Simpson was arrested he was involved in a car chase with his friend
Al Cowlings. Simpson was supposed to turn himself in but instead he kidnapped his friend in his truck and tried to flee threatening to kill himself
while his friend drove. While this was happening Simpson's lawyer read a letter to the media written by Simpson, "First everyone understand I
had nothing to do with Nicole 's murder. Don 't feel sorry for me. I 've had a great life." This almost sounds like a suicide note. Why write a suicide
note if you're innocent? The media got involved with this slow car chase and they got some of Simpsons friends to talk him into turning himself
in. This car chase and everything involved was not brought up at all during the trial. Fleeing and threatening to kill himself seemed like a
desperate act of guilt. Simpson showed up at his first court appearance on June 21 and he pleaded not guilty to the two murders. A jury was
formed right away to see if there was enough evidence to press charges on OJ Simpson. Two days later on June 23, the jury was dismissed because
there was so much media coverage on this case and they did not want the jury to be influenced by it. The new jury was also likely to be influenced
by the media. A week long hearing took place and finally a California court superior judge ruled that there was enough evidence to try OJ Simpson for
the murders of Nicole Simpson and Ronald

This trial began on January 25, 1995. The lead prosecutor, Marcia Clark, argued that Simpson killed his ex–wife in a despite of jealousy. The
prosecution opened its case by playing a 911 call from Nicole Brown Simpson had made on January 1, 1989, which she expressed fear that
Simpson would physically harm her (Bosco 7). The prosecution also presented dozens of expert witnesses the ranged on topics from DNA
fingerprinting to shoe print analysis. Also what they concluded placed Simpson at the scene of the crime. A limousine driver, Allan Park, who was
to drive Simpson to the LAX airport said that he could not contact anyone through the intercom at Simpson 's gate when he arrived at 10:35 p.m.
Around 10:50, he saw a large figure enter the house, some lights came on, and Simpson answered the gate 's intercom. They then loaded some bags
into the limo and left for the airport at 11:15 (Jones 9). He also stated that he did see a parked vehicle when they pulled away but he wasn't sure. His
testimony was rejected due to the fact of his uncertainty regarding the parked vehicle.
Simpson hired six very expensive and popular lawyers who were Barry Scheck, Robert Shapiro, Robert Kardashian, F. Lee Bailey, Johnnie Cochran,

handled and was contaminated by several people. Simpson 's defense team, who was later named the "Dream Team"

They expected a conviction. Based on the physical evidence collected at Nicole's and Simpson's homes the prosecution claimed that Simpson
drove to Nicole's house on the evening of the murder with the intention of killing her. They composed a story of the events that happened that
night. Nicole put her two children to bed and while getting ready to go to bed herself, opened the front door of her house after either responding to
a knock on the front door or hearing a noise outside. Simpson grabbed her before she could scream and attacked her with a knife. Forensic evidence
from the Los Angeles County coroner suggested that Ron Goldman arrived at the front gate sometime during the assault and the assailant attacked
him by stabbing him repeatedly in the neck and chest while restraining him. Nicole was found lying face down so it is believed that the assailant,
after finishing with Goldman, pulled her head back using her hair and slit her throat with the knife, severing her carotid artery. Simpson left a "trail of
blood" from the condo to the alley behind it and there were drops of Simpson's blood on the driveway near the gate to his

judicial system to be found not guilty of a double homicide. This well–known athlete is O. J.

Ronald Goldman. Did O.J. Simpson really commit the double homicide? To this day, this is a
controversial question. Kidnapping a friend in an attempt to flee and threatening to kill himself

with other significant evidence are sure signs that O. J. Simpson should have been found guilty

This team of lawyers were able to pick the perfect jury needed for their not
guilty verdict. Also, the team of lawyers did a great job of manipulating the evidence into O. J.'s
favor or even having it dismissed from the trail. In fact, all points made above and the evidence
provided yet not allowed in the trial clearly prove O. J. Simpson was guilty of the double
homicide of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.
If O. J. Simpson was not so famous and didn't have the ability to pay his "dream team" of
lawyers over $20 million dollars he would have inevitably been found guilty of this double
homicide. This team of lawyers used every opportunity to manipulate and tear down the
prosecution's case that clearly proved O. J Simpson was guilty. The hair, fiber, and blood
evidence were proven to be O. J.'s but not allowed to be used against him. A confession is
normally used to prove a normal person guilty, but not if you are rich and famous with plenty of
money. O. J. Simpson was guilty of this double homicide and if he was a normal person this
verdict would have been short and

A Good Man is hard to Find Essay
A Good Man Is Hard To Find
"Adversity defines the essence of who we are and who we desire to be!" This can be best realized in the rural southern regions of the United States
during the late 19 forties and early fifties. Without a specific location of long–term concentration, this story finds three generations of a family taking a
vacation (planning at least) to Florida despite objections from the grandmother. Factor in her impatient son (Bailey), his wife, and two smart–ass
children have marginal respect for their grandmother resulting in a crew of authoritative, uncertainty, distant, and manipulative people about to engage

Perhaps lingering memories of times past allow grandmother to conclude that good men are hard to find. While grandma comments that he is a good
man, his wife comes to the table with the food and a contributing thought that no one can be trusted (as she looks at Red). To this point, even a routine
stop for a bite to eat never escapes the harsh realities of the grandmother as she tries to deal with choices, and the resulting consequences from her
youth.
Conversation then shifts to the escaped convict known as the "misfit". Further conversation details how the misfit would frequent their establishment.
While Red tells his wife to be quiet about the matter grandmother comments about Europe's contribution to problems referring to the way they
(Europeans) act. Eventually the family finishes their lunch and continues on the way toward an abrupt end. Red appears to be interested in simple
mingling with their guest perhaps because of the family's choice to dine in their establishment. Their presence while welcomed simply is a transaction,
nothing more or less.
With the road trip resumed, grandmother thinks she has visited a plantation in the area. A successful effort to visit the plantation has its best chance by
enticing the children's interest in the plantation. Continued conversation suggests the presence of a secret panel, a ploy surely to arouse curiosity from
the children.
With initial denial of the request, Bailey reluctantly and agitated, pull the car over.

Patty Hearst, By Patricia Campbell Hearst
Patty Hearst also known as (Patricia Campbell Hearst) is the granddaughter of American publishing magnate William Randolph Hearst, however she
is most known as the person who got kidnapped. This all began when Patty and her fiance were having a casual day, living their lives, but all of a
sudden patty and her fiance got a knock on their apartment door. A group called the SLA (
Symbionese Liberation Army) pointed guns towards patty and
her fiance demanding them to stand still and quiet. Still unsure what was happening, Patty Fiance was beaten down with a wine bottle, while they
grabbed patty and took her away from her home and wounded fiance.
This was a serious event to not only patty but also to the United States. This cause lots of contributing to America and lots of confusing the reason why
the SLA people took her was to brainwash Patty Hearst and go against her nation by helping the SLA group to destroy the American "capitalist state."
Another reason they took patty hearst was to bring attention to America. Patty came from a wealthy, powerful family, The SLA knowing this about
her had a great plan to bring tension to the world. The SLA plan went perfectly which lead it to be made front page on the national news and a total

Public Relations As A Regular Tradition
Due to the early accounts of public relations utilising manipulative practices as a regular tradition, these tactics have thus overshadowed and continued
to be the predominant view of public relations within modern contexts. This essay will argue that public relations has evolved considerably beyond
the age of press agentry, yet will still acknowledge the existence of some present day uses of these schemes. Firstly, this essay will explore the history of
public relations to establish and enforce the need for change within the profession. Secondly, this essay will discuss the various new practices and
procedures of public relations implied into modern society and how this aligns with the continuing ethical development of this profession. Lastly, the
essay will analyse the use of methods associated with the press agentry period in recent years.
Public relations is historically categorised in three stages known as manipulation, information and mutual benefit, with each consisting of a different
core set of values, methods and desired outcomes. The manipulation period was known for its continuous abuse of press agentry and publicity stunts to
further its "manipulative attempt to gain the attention of the public through the media". To summarise the manipulation era was infatuated with profit
gain and often acted without a moral compass by fabricating elaborate stories to entice the interest of the public, thus furthering their financial success.

Patco Strike
REAGAN AND THE PATCO STRIKE OF 1981 On August 3, 1981, nearly 13,000 of the 17,500 members of the Professional Air Traffic Controllers
Organization (PATCO) staged a walk out and strike. There were four main reasons the union members of PATCO decided to go on strike. First, to
address the concerns by members who felt that their work was seriously undervalued and under–rewarded. The second reason was that the Federal
Aviation Administration had neglected serious deficiencies in staffing and hardware reliability. Thirdly, their work week was unreasonably long,
especially when compared to controllers overseas. The fourth reason for the strike was the FAA's (FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION)
approach to management–union relations and the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
FAA management declared negotiations terminated until controllers resumed their jobs. PATCO leaders stated that the strike would continue until the
items in their contract were satisfied. Leaders within the union had thought that with the reduction of qualified manning, all air traffic would come to a
standstill. PATCO could not foresee that the FAA would go against their own rule forair traffic control, and run the system with only 5
15% of the experienced work force. The FAA moved to place 500 military controllers to replace the ones out on strike, to work alongside the 2000
controllers that did not walk out. They also prioritized scheduled flights at major airports to keep 50 percent available during peak hours. All of this
helped to continually improved air operations. 'Figures released by the FAA showed flights on schedule increased to 65 percent on Monday; 67
percent on Tuesday and by Thursday it was up to 83 percent'. "Reagan held a press conference that morning, in the Rose Garden and read a statement,
citing the pledge that all controllers had taken, never to strike. Reagan told the striking controllers that they had forty–eight hours to return to their jobs,
or, he would consider their jobs forfeited and they would be terminated and would not be rehired".
When the 11 am deadline on the 5th of August arrived, of the 13,000 air traffic controllers that had walked out, only a

Social Case Study: Jetblue Airways
JetBlue Airways:
Regaining Altitude after the Valentine's Day Massacre of 2007
A Submission to the Arthur W. Page Society Case Study Competition
2 Abstract Valentine's Day 2007 changed the course of history for JetBlue Airways. The upstart low
–fare airline – which had enjoyed unprecedented
acclaim from customers and industry observers – suddenly found itself in the midst of its first major operational catastrophe. A winter storm that
enveloped the New York metropolitan region and JetBlue's hub at John F. Kennedy International Airport left hundreds of the company's passengers
stranded in the terminal, and worse, in planes on the tarmac. The flight disruptions at JFK plunged JetBlue's entire operation into chaos, forcing the

JetBlue was the brainchild of David Neeleman, an industry visionary who promised to "bring humanity back to air travel."9 Neeleman, who was born
in Brazil but grew up in Utah as part of a large Mormon family, was no stranger to start–up airlines.10 He helped to build Morris Air, a Utah–based
airline that Southwest acquired in 1993 for $129 million.11 Neeleman leveraged his industry experience and connections to create a company that
would boast a fleet of brand new airplanes, low fares, and a host of customer–friendly embellishments that legacy carriers and other start–ups would be
hard–pressed to match. Neeleman envisioned treating JetBlue's customers – never referred to as passengers – to comfy and wide leather seats,
paperless ticketing, and exceptional service by flight crew members. Every seat would come equipped with a television that featured dozens of free
channels provided by satellite signal. Finally, to keep costs down, JetBlue would offer a virtually unlimited supply of appealing in–flight snacks instead
of soggy meals that no one really wanted.12 Backed by an impressive capital reserve, Neeleman's plan worked far sooner than even the most
optimistic industry observers predicted. With its new airplanes and flights to and from previously underserved markets, JetBlue quickly shot to the top
of J.D. Power and Associates' customer satisfaction surveys.13 Based at New

Literature Review On End Of Life Care
In reviewing the two studies I found, it is very clear there is a difference in quantitative and qualitative studies. To start, Lee et al. (2017) conducted
a qualitative study in which the problem statement recognizes that end of life care (EOLC) in dementia patients is less than optimal when compared
to cancer patients. The researchers aimed to determine what service managers and frontline staff at different facilities felt were the key aspects in
improving EOLC in dementia patients (Lee et al., 2017). As a result, the researchers purpose was to contribute to the current evidence base on good
EOLC and interventions to increase quality of care of end of life dementia patients. Comparatively, Bailey et al. (2014) studied the effects of
implementing interventions to improve end of life care for inpatient veterans. The problem statement was determined to be that end of life care in the
inpatient setting was lacking, which drove the aim of the study to improve EOLC and to minimize suffering of the patients (Bailey et al., 2014). The
researchers theorized that this could be accomplished if recognition of end of life was increased and if home–based palliative interventions were
implemented. Therefore, the team sought to study the effectiveness of implementing staff education of three items: evaluating patients who are
actively dying, communicating end of life interventions with patients and families, and implementing home–based best practices for end of life care
(Bailey et al., 2014). The purpose here was to improve inpatient end of life care. Regarding the frameworks for the studies, Lee et al., (2017) utilized a
research design which was partially structured by preparing interview questions, however, it took on an emergent design when the service manager
interviews led the researchers to explore the views of frontline staff. When data saturation occurred, they concluded the study without a defined number
of participants (Lee et al., 2017). In contrast, theories for the quantitative design led to the structured framework. The primary interventions of staff
education, order set build, and follow up consultation were implemented in a staggered method via a multiple–baseline, stepped wedge design,

The Simpson Trial Process

  • 1. The Simpson Trial Process The Trial Process The trial process began a few months later, on January 24, 1995. The prosecution consisted of Marcia Clark and Christopher Darden (Linder, 2000). While, the defense team, called the "dream team," included Robert Shapiro, F. Lee Bailey, Johnnie Cochran, Alan Dershowitz, and Barry Scheck. The judge was Lance Ito and the jury consisted of 9 African–Americans, 1 Hispanic, and 2 Caucasians (Linder, 2000). Ten of them being women and only 2 were men. The prosecution presented the jury with much evidence and witnesses to try to prove that Simpson was guilty. This included, witnesses from Nicole's family and friends along with witnesses that could help plan a timeline of events, such as the limo driver, Allan Park, and a house guest named Kato Kaelin. Allan Park went to Simpson's house to pick him up and take him to the airport, but he received no answer when he rang the doorbell (Linder, 2000). Park then testified that he saw someone walk into the house and that a few minutes later ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These strategies included, convincing the jury that O.J. was physically unable to commit the crime and suggesting that Simpson was framed by corrupt police officers, such as Mark Fuhrman (Linder, 2000). The defense's witnesses included O.J.'s doctor, who claimed that O.J. was incapable of committing the crime because he had arthritis. However, there was a video, presented by the prosecution, which showed Simpson performing physically demanding exercises a short while before the murders. Furthermore, the defense proved that Mark Fuhrman was indeed a racist who had used the n word many times. This led to the assumption that Fuhrman had planted evidence to frame Simpson of the murders (Linder, 2000). The defense said that Fuhrman took a glove from the crime scene, put Nicole's blood on it, and then placed it outside of Kato's bedroom to try to frame O.J. for the ... He studied at Hanover College and Western Reserve University. Sheppard pursued careers in medicine. He got married in 1945 to his high school girlfriend, Marilyn. After a few years of their marriage, they returned back to Cleveland, Ohio. Until July 4, 1954, they lived a charmed life in a wealthy neighbourhood. Then suddenly on July 4, 1954, Marilyn was found dead in their bedroom. This case is known as one of the longest running and most sensationalized court cases in the United States history because of the elements of doubt within the case. Dr. Sheppard was convicted of the murder. In the first trial, he... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Firstly, prosecution didn't realize about phone calling his friend when Sheppard can check the pulse by himself. Even though he is a doctor, why would he call his friend to check whether she died or not? It doesn't matter what kind of doctor you are, all the doctors were trained the basic things such as checking pulse. For me, I learned it when I was in 8th grade, so Sheppard should know it. This shows that he knew she died, but he called his friend, so in case if gets in trouble, his friend's testimony can save him. Secondly, neither the defense nor the prosecution brought up about his make up stories. In the article by Larkin, B, from "Speaking up for Marilyn in the 60–year–old Sam Sheppard murder case" stated that when Sheppard was making alibis to walk away when he got arrested. However, in the second trial, no one brought it up. When Sheppard was arrested he said that there was "blushy–haired' killed her. However, there wasn't any damaged in the house. Unfortunately, no one brought this up. Thirdly, the defense counsel didn't let Sheppard to testify because Sheppard's "Cool, pedantic style did not make a good impressions with the 1954 trial. ( Linder, Law2)" If the defense counsel allowed it then the truth would have been out. Fourthly, the bloodstain on his pants, which shows that he when he tried ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Simpson was accused of being the murderer in these two cases. From January to October, the trial went on and on, and more people thought that he was guilty and that he actually murdered his ex wife and friend, Nicole and Ron. Reporters and lawyers were everywhere. After ten long months of the trial O.J. Simpson was pronounced "not guilty" verdict. Some reporters, family members of Nicole, and at home watchers thought he was only pronounced "not guilty" because the grand jury was all "overwhelmingly" black. And O.J. My grandmother, Geneva Reyes, flew down to California in October to hear the verdict and see for herself the truth of everything. My grandmother was not in the courthouse during the trials or interrogations but the way she truly knew in heart that O.J. Simpson was not guilty and they had the wrong guy for the murders. The most recent instance is the case of newly released drugs with astounding success rates for the cure of Hepatitis C Virus. In 2013 newer drugs, simeprevir and sofosbuvir, were introduced with the later creating 90% cure rates in patients (Watson, n.d., p.gs. 1–2). The Sixties: A Decade of Rebellion Essay "Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans" (Kennedy 916). With these words, John F. Kennedy in his inaugural address in 1961 described the 1960's decade. This era in American history encapsulated a belief in the power of young people to change the world, a desire to help others globally and accept their differences, and a war that would eventually destroy all that America stood for. It was a time for new ideas in all aspects of life. This shift in thinking is apparent when looking at the happenings in society, the younger generation, and the media. One significant influence was the feminist movement and women's rights. The Feminine Mystique by Betty Friedan inspired many women and caused new women's groups to be created. Women all across the country began to question the roles they had and fight for equal rights (Horton 32–41). An overview of biological and environmental factors associated withAutism (ASD) Autism, otherwise known as autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) has developed significantly over the past few years. There has been much research carried out since its discovery over sixty years ago (Wolff, Narayan & Moyes, 1988), it is now described as a complex syndrome affecting the central nervous system and a developmental disorder that stems from a neurological disorder affecting normal brain function (Volkmar, 2007). This essay will examine both the biological and environmental factors believed to cause ASD, while considering some of the major theories surrounding the condition. ASD is identified by three distinguishing primary impairments in language, social skills and behavioural flexibility, which are referred to as the Triad of Impairments (Happe' & Ronald, 2009). Additionally, the primary characteristics that define ASD are often accompanied by various other features such as; learning disabilities, self–injury, aggression, repetition, ritualistic eating, drinking or sleeping behaviours and a compelling need for routine (Happe' & Ronald, 2009). However, in 1963, there was a major collision in midair, which could have been prevented by air traffic controllers. Since 1961, no new air traffic controllers had been hired, even though the number of flights had been increasing rapidly. Also, controllers were being forced (under the threat of being fired) to work six days a week for upwards of 10 hours per day. Also, a lot of equipment was "archaic" and unable to handle this rapid increase in flights. Some of the equipment was dated to World War II and was literally falling apart. The FAA was under a lot of pressure to make the airways safe. This pressure was in turn placed onto the controllers. Needless to say, all of these conditions did not make controllers happy and ... • 29. Did Oj Simpson Really Do It? Did OJ Simpson really do it? This question has a lot of controversy. Before OJ Simpson was arrested he was involved in a car chase with his friend Al Cowlings. Simpson was supposed to turn himself in but instead he kidnapped his friend in his truck and tried to flee threatening to kill himself while his friend drove. While this was happening Simpson's lawyer read a letter to the media written by Simpson, "First everyone understand I had nothing to do with Nicole 's murder. Don 't feel sorry for me. I 've had a great life." This almost sounds like a suicide note. Why write a suicide note if you're innocent? The media got involved with this slow car chase and they got some of Simpsons friends to talk him into turning himself in. This car chase and everything involved was not brought up at all during the trial. Fleeing and threatening to kill himself seemed like a desperate act of guilt. Simpson showed up at his first court appearance on June 21 and he pleaded not guilty to the two murders. A jury was formed right away to see if there was enough evidence to press charges on OJ Simpson. Two days later on June 23, the jury was dismissed because there was so much media coverage on this case and they did not want the jury to be influenced by it. The new jury was also likely to be influenced by the media. A week long hearing took place and finally a California court superior judge ruled that there was enough evidence to try OJ Simpson for the murders of Nicole Simpson and Ronald ... They then loaded some bags into the limo and left for the airport at 11:15 (Jones 9). He also stated that he did see a parked vehicle when they pulled away but he wasn't sure. Based on the physical evidence collected at Nicole's and Simpson's homes the prosecution claimed that Simpson drove to Nicole's house on the evening of the murder with the intention of killing her. They composed a story of the events that happened that night. Nicole put her two children to bed and while getting ready to go to bed herself, opened the front door of her house after either responding to a knock on the front door or hearing a noise outside. Simpson grabbed her before she could scream and attacked her with a knife. Forensic evidence from the Los Angeles County coroner suggested that Ron Goldman arrived at the front gate sometime during the assault and the assailant attacked him by stabbing him repeatedly in the neck and chest while restraining him. Nicole was found lying face down so it is believed that the assailant, after finishing with Goldman, pulled her head back using her hair and slit her throat with the knife, severing her carotid artery. This can be best realized in the rural southern regions of the United States during the late 19 forties and early fifties. Without a specific location of long–term concentration, this story finds three generations of a family taking a vacation (planning at least) to Florida despite objections from the grandmother. While grandma comments that he is a good man, his wife comes to the table with the food and a contributing thought that no one can be trusted (as she looks at Red). To this point, even a routine stop for a bite to eat never escapes the harsh realities of the grandmother as she tries to deal with choices, and the resulting consequences from her youth. Conversation then shifts to the escaped convict known as the "misfit". Further conversation details how the misfit would frequent their establishment. While Red tells his wife to be quiet about the matter grandmother comments about Europe's contribution to problems referring to the way they (Europeans) act. Eventually the family finishes their lunch and continues on the way toward an abrupt end. Red appears to be interested in simple mingling with their guest perhaps because of the family's choice to dine in their establishment. Their presence while welcomed simply is a transaction, nothing more or less. With the road trip resumed, grandmother thinks she has visited a plantation in the area. A successful effort to visit the plantation has its best chance by enticing the children's interest in the plantation. Continued conversation suggests the presence of a secret panel, a ploy surely to arouse curiosity from the children. • 39. Public Relations As A Regular Tradition Due to the early accounts of public relations utilising manipulative practices as a regular tradition, these tactics have thus overshadowed and continued to be the predominant view of public relations within modern contexts. This essay will argue that public relations has evolved considerably beyond the age of press agentry, yet will still acknowledge the existence of some present day uses of these schemes. Firstly, this essay will explore the history of public relations to establish and enforce the need for change within the profession. Secondly, this essay will discuss the various new practices and procedures of public relations implied into modern society and how this aligns with the continuing ethical development of this profession. Lastly, the essay will analyse the use of methods associated with the press agentry period in recent years. Public relations is historically categorised in three stages known as manipulation, information and mutual benefit, with each consisting of a different core set of values, methods and desired outcomes. The manipulation period was known for its continuous abuse of press agentry and publicity stunts to further its "manipulative attempt to gain the attention of the public through the media". To summarise the manipulation era was infatuated with profit gain and often acted without a moral compass by fabricating elaborate stories to entice the interest of the public, thus furthering their financial success. There were four main reasons the union members of PATCO decided to go on strike. First, to address the concerns by members who felt that their work was seriously undervalued and under–rewarded. The second reason was that the Federal Aviation Administration had neglected serious deficiencies in staffing and hardware reliability. Thirdly, their work week was unreasonably long, especially when compared to controllers overseas. FAA management declared negotiations terminated until controllers resumed their jobs. PATCO leaders stated that the strike would continue until the items in their contract were satisfied. Leaders within the union had thought that with the reduction of qualified manning, all air traffic would come to a standstill. PATCO could not foresee that the FAA would go against their own rule forair traffic control, and run the system with only 5 15% of the experienced work force. The FAA moved to place 500 military controllers to replace the ones out on strike, to work alongside the 2000 controllers that did not walk out. They also prioritized scheduled flights at major airports to keep 50 percent available during peak hours. All of this helped to continually improved air operations. JetBlue was the brainchild of David Neeleman, an industry visionary who promised to "bring humanity back to air travel."9 Neeleman, who was born in Brazil but grew up in Utah as part of a large Mormon family, was no stranger to start–up airlines.10 He helped to build Morris Air, a Utah–based airline that Southwest acquired in 1993 for $129 million.11 Neeleman leveraged his industry experience and connections to create a company that would boast a fleet of brand new airplanes, low fares, and a host of customer–friendly embellishments that legacy carriers and other start–ups would be hard–pressed to match. Neeleman envisioned treating JetBlue's customers – never referred to as passengers – to comfy and wide leather seats, paperless ticketing, and exceptional service by flight crew members. Every seat would come equipped with a television that featured dozens of free channels provided by satellite signal. Finally, to keep costs down, JetBlue would offer a virtually unlimited supply of appealing in–flight snacks instead of soggy meals that no one really wanted.12 Backed by an impressive capital reserve, Neeleman's plan worked far sooner than even the most optimistic industry observers predicted. • 42. Literature Review On End Of Life Care In reviewing the two studies I found, it is very clear there is a difference in quantitative and qualitative studies. To start, Lee et al. (2017) conducted a qualitative study in which the problem statement recognizes that end of life care (EOLC) in dementia patients is less than optimal when compared to cancer patients. The researchers aimed to determine what service managers and frontline staff at different facilities felt were the key aspects in improving EOLC in dementia patients (Lee et al., 2017). As a result, the researchers purpose was to contribute to the current evidence base on good EOLC and interventions to increase quality of care of end of life dementia patients. Comparatively, Bailey et al. (2014) studied the effects of implementing interventions to improve end of life care for inpatient veterans. The problem statement was determined to be that end of life care in the inpatient setting was lacking, which drove the aim of the study to improve EOLC and to minimize suffering of the patients (Bailey et al., 2014). The researchers theorized that this could be accomplished if recognition of end of life was increased and if home–based palliative interventions were implemented. Therefore, the team sought to study the effectiveness of implementing staff education of three items: evaluating patients who are actively dying, communicating end of life interventions with patients and families, and implementing home–based best practices for end of life care (Bailey et al., 2014). The purpose here was to improve inpatient end of life care. Regarding the frameworks for the studies, Lee et al., (2017) utilized a research design which was partially structured by preparing interview questions, however, it took on an emergent design when the service manager interviews led the researchers to explore the views of frontline staff. When data saturation occurred, they concluded the study without a defined number of participants (Lee et al., 2017). In contrast, theories for the quantitative design led to the structured framework. The primary interventions of staff education, order set build, and follow up consultation were implemented in a staggered method via a multiple–baseline, stepped wedge design, ...
