This document discusses how Encompass, a web-based platform, helps streamline backend processes and increase engagement for alumni volunteer programs. It captures volunteer data more effectively, improves workflows and communication abilities. Encompass allows volunteers to select interest areas and specific opportunities, and receives pre-populated personal data. It also pushes relevant news and events to volunteers based on their interests. This helps train volunteers better and develop targeted content. Charts show how Encompass increased volunteer donation participation and totals for admissions, career and event programs from 2009 to 2010.
Too often membership programs are siloed or do not get the internal support membership efforts deserve. Competing for internal resources, institutional email schedules, IT, and limited marketing resources can stifle membership’s full potential.
Case Study: History Colorado
The campaign integrated traditional direct mail and on-site sales with a series of social media contests, a mobile scavenger hunt, and an interactive Facebook tabs to expose audiences to History Colorado’s mission and membership messaging.
Case Study: Museum of Science, Boston
Leveraging digital marketing, the Museum acquired new gift givers and members from untapped sources. Successes included testing a set of messaging and offers, leveraging website retargeting and Facebook advertising, and reaching new audiences through an expanded email program and a partnership with a local parents magazine.
Best Practices
• Use social media contests to raise awareness, drive traffic to membership webpages, and capture prospect data
• Invest in highly targeted advertising to reach new and existing audiences
• Thread in mission-oriented messaging throughout
• Capture member stories
• Integrate online/offline
• Support with PR
• Ensure all touch points use the same message, creative, across channels
• Email is a critical channel to tie everything together
A Seat at the Table
Membership should be involved in:
• Shared goals, metrics, schedules, and reporting
• Google Analytics for membership pages (traffic and conversion goals)
• Google Grants and display advertising strategy
• Email communications schedules and use of in-house lists
• Landing pages, e-commerce systems, and product packaging
• Social media strategy and content management

Data Maintenance in a Data Hoarding WorldTimothy State
While reviewing directory vendors, Lake Forest College realized that the directory is the by-product, and the real project was a total overhaul of data maintenance systems. Using a directory reprint as a catalyst, Lake Forest has done a 360-degree data maintenance review, implemented a new process by taking advantage of integrating iModules Encompass tools, email bounce reporting, and systematic reports. In addition, they launched a data education program underscoring the importance of alumni sharing and updating personal data.

Salesforce Case Management with Canadian Cancer Society, Salesforce.org, and ...Heller Consulting
Case management can be used as a specific term, but in the most basic sense it simply describes a process: information comes into a system, it gets processed in some way, and then something happens as a result. This simple process can be used and extended in a variety of ways to help a nonprofit organization deliver its mission and achieve its goals. From internal help desk tickets and support issues to managing customer requests or even grant applications, case management techniques and processes can streamline interactions between constituents and staff to provide a smooth and trackable experience from beginning to end.
Join us July 26 for this in-depth webinar where we will show how the Canadian Cancer Society in Saskatchewan utilized the case management functionality of Salesforce in their multi-channels engagement center to manage calls, emails, social connections, fundraising coaching and more. We’ll also discuss how they utilized cases in their financial assistance program and to provide an effective and efficient way to manage one of the more complex and time-consuming processes in their program. The Society was able to leverage the power of cases to enable and track service delivery and ensure the goals of the program were being met.
In this webinar, Salesforce.org, the Canadian Cancer Society in Saskatchewan and Heller Consulting show what’s possible with case management in Salesforce. At the end, you’ll walk away with new ideas on how to leverage this functionality for your own organization.
Key Takeaways:
- Live demo of case management in Salesforce
- Learn how the Canadian Cancer Society built one of its cancer support programs by leveraging case management functionality
- Learn how the Society implemented a multi-channel engagement centre with cases as a key solution component
- We’ll share tips and best practices on case management and how you can increase the effectiveness of your programs
You can also receive Supporting a Strategy with Salesforce Cases, a detailed look at how to utilize the power of Salesforce Cases in a variety of ways across an organization.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
