This document outlines a Lenten journey program focused on becoming the revelation of the Father through building one's home into a holy temple. It discusses models like the home of Nazareth and the teachings of St. John Bosco. The program involves daily Scripture reading, rosary, and weekly reflections on forming one's family through implementing the Seven Steps of That Man is You and the principles of Don Bosco. Participants are encouraged to make sacrifices each week and discuss how to bring more joy and God's presence into their spiritual lives. Key figures like Mary, Joseph, and John are asked to be guides for transforming the human person through this incredible journey.
“I learned to love Jesus more than my own parents” That is Jesus, the son of Mary the word of truth about” (which they are in dispute.” (Qur’ân 19:34 Jesus has been mentioned by name 25 times in the Qur’ân while Prophet Muhammad has been mentioned by name just five times. Additionally, the nineteenth chapter of the Qur’ân was named after the Virgin “Mary” while there is no chapter in the Qur’ân bearing the name of Prophet Muhammad’s mother, any of his wives or daughters. It is also noteworthy that Mary is the only woman mentioned by name in the Qur’ân. She is described in the most .honorable way as one chosen and favored over all women : Allāh says And [mention] when the angels said, “O Mary, indeed” Allāh has chosen you and purified you and chosen you ( 3:42 ) “.above the women of the worlds It is also noteworthy that Mary is the only woman .mentioned by name in the noble Qur’ân And the Qur’ân mentions that fair-minded Christians are : closest to the Muslims You will find the nearest of them in affection to the believers” those who say, "We are Christians." That is because among them are priests and monks and because they are not arrogant.” (5:82)

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

The Revelation of the Father - Week 17
1. S E S S I O N 17
Becoming the Revelation of
the Father
2. God has given to you a mission!
He wants you to build your home into a holy
temple “worthy” of the divine dwelling.
3. The Wise Master Builder
“According to the commission of God
given to me, like a skilled master builder
I laid a foundation, and another man is
building upon it. Let each man take
care how he builds upon it.”
1 Corinthians 3:10
4. The Temple of the Lord
“You are fellow citizens with the saints and
members of the household of God, built
upon the foundation of the apostles and
prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the
cornerstone, in whom the whole structure is
joined together and grows into a holy temple
in the Lord; in whom you also are built into it
for a dwelling place of God in the spirit.”
Ephesians 2:19-22
5. The “Bishop of the Home”
“Take my place in your families. Everyone
who is head of a house must exercise the
Episcopal office and see to the faith of his
people … Take care with all watchfulness for
the salvation of the members of the
household entrusted to you.”
St. Augustine
Sermon 19
6. If we are to build a home for the Lord, then we
should take as our model the man who properly
speaking built a home for the Lord!
7. The “School” of the Home at Nazareth
“Nazareth is a kind of school where we may begin to
discover what Christ’s life was like and even to
understand his Gospel … Here everything speaks to
us, everything has meaning … How I would like to
return to my childhood and attend the simple yet
profound school that is Nazareth!”
Blessed Pope Paul VI,
Address at the Basilica of the Annunciation
January 5, 1964
8. The Characteristics of the Home at Nazareth
1. The Presence of God:
• “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us … we
have behold his glory” (John 1:14)
2. Holiness – evil remains on outside the home:
• Jesus is the Word Incarnate (Cf. John 1:14).
• Mary is the Immaculate Conception (Cf. Luke 1:28).
• Joseph is the just man in Scripture (Cf. Matthew 1:19).
3. Superabundant Joy:
• “God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and
death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning
nor crying nor pain any more, for the former things have
passed away” (Revelation 21:4).
9. The Challenge for the Christian Father
1. The Presence of God:
• Men relive and reveal on earth the very fatherhood of
God (Cf. St. John Paul II, Familiaris Consortio, #25).
2. Holiness – evil remains on outside the home:
• “God chose us in Christ before the foundation of the
world, that we should be holy and blameless before
him” (Ephesians 1:4).
3. Superabundant Joy:
• “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.
Let all me know your forbearance … Have no anxiety
about anything … And the peace of God, which passes
all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds
in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:4-7).
10. Is it possible to live such an incredibly high
calling? Yes, it is!
The story of Don Bosco.
11. The Story of St. John Bosco
• 1815: Born August 16th in Turin, Italy.
• 1824: Dream at age 9 reveals life’s vocation.
• 1841: Ordained to priesthood. Begins Oratory
modeled on father in family on December 8th.
• 1846: Almost dies.
• 1847: Takes in first boarder.
• 1859: Founds Salesians (2nd largest order).
• 1888: Dies on January 31st.
• 1934: Canonized – “The supernatural and
miraculous became ordinary.”

of Don Bosco,” Salesiana Publishers, New

12. The Dream of St. John Bosco
Don Bosco dreamed that he was “in a field surrounded by a crowd of boys. Some …
were fighting and using bad language. On hearing the language he lost his temper,
dashed in among them and laid about him with his fists … and a battle royal began …
In the middle of this ruckus appeared a noble-looking Man … ‘Come here,’ he said …
‘You will never help these boys by beating them. Be kind to them, lead them, teach
them that sin is evil and that purity is a precious gift.’ … ‘Who are you to tell me to do
all these difficult things?’ Don Bosco demanded. ‘I am the Son of the woman your
mother taught you to salute three times a day … By listening to the woman I shall
send to you, you will do everything with ease.’ The Man disappeared and the boys at
once changed into dogs, wolves and other wild animals. Trembling with fear, he
turned to find a beautiful and gracious Lady at his side. ‘Don’t be afraid,’ she said …
‘What I shall do for these animals, you must do for all my children’ … When she had
finished speaking, he saw that the wild animals had indeed been changed to lambs …
Confused by what he saw, he started to cry, ‘I don’t understand!’ ‘Do not worry, my
child,’ the Lady comforted him. ‘You will understand everything in good time.’”

13. Superabundant Mercy in the Home
“The preventative system consists in
making the laws known and then
watching carefully so that the pupils may
at all times be under the vigilant eye of
the Rector, who like loving fathers can …
place the pupils in the impossibility of
committing faults.”
Don BoscoSource: Lemoyne, G., “The Biographical
Memoirs of St. John Bosco,” v. 4,
Salesiana Publishers, Inc., New York,
1967, p. 381.
14. Superabundant Mercy in Action
“This system is based entirely on reason and
religion, and above on kindness; therefore it
excludes all violent punishment, and tries to do
without even the slightest chastisement … Let the
educator strive to make himself loved by his pupils
if he wishes to make himself feared by them.
When he succeeds in this, the omission of some
token of kindness is a punishment which fosters
emulation, gives courage and never degrades.”
