The vivid picture of endless torment of those who would reject God
for Caesar.

Their punishment is continuous while alive and after death. No
fellowship with God our Father is the greatest punishment.

of worshipping the beast (Caesar) and his image.

Jesus – son of man – Rev 1:13, 17-18; Lk 19:10; John 13:31 Dan 7:13-14 – came with the clouds of heaven Ps 97:1-3 – clouds and darkness are round about Him ..burneth up enemies Is 19:1-4 – the Lord rideth upon a swift cloud ..shall come into Egypt b. Who is this? He put in His sickle and reaped the harvest of the earth This is Jesus c. How many more messengers came? From where? Two more messengers. One from the temple and one from the altar. 9

    d. What werethey to do? What does this represent? Gather the cluster of the vine of the earth for her grapes were fully ripe. This represents the final judgment upon that generation as Jesus said in Matt 23:33-36 – from Abel to Zacharias. Joel 3:13 – similar language indicating judgment of the wicked. See context e. Where was the winepress? Literal or figurative? Without the city – Roman army The words are figurative – 600 furlongs equal 180-200 miles f. Who is represented here? The disobedient of that generation judged for killing the prophets A to Z and culmination in the crucifixion of God’s Son, their Messiah. g. What city is this? Is there a historical event that this could be connected to? Jerusalem the fallen holy city of verse 8. The only historical event is the destruction of Jerusalem before that generation ended in AD70, just as Jesus said.
