The Potawatomi people lived in the Great Lakes area and built rectangular log structures called wigwams for shelter. They traveled by canoe, on foot, or using dogs as transportation. The Potawatomi hunted wild animals and gathered food from nature. They called themselves the Neshnabek. As artists, they crafted items like wampum beads and did beadwork. Some Potawatomi now also attend church.
